‘Love’ is in the air, but it is one of the most complicated emotions known to us, as we are unable to understand its full meaning and intricacies. Love requires intentions, thoughtfulness, and deep feelings for it to be accurate, and with Valentine’s Day round the corner, I guess it is a special day for telling those you love that you do love them.

To be able to say ‘I love you’ or express ones feelings to those who matter most to us is not an easy task. Some of us are more expressive in our feelings while others maybe more reserved, shy or not able to express their love.

So, don’t think twice about how to say I love you on Valentine’s Day, instead take the following suggestions and go right ahead and just say it.

  • Express your feelings, have the pure intentions from your heart, and say ‘I love you’ by making eye contact with the one you love.
  • Give your loved ones a hug and smile when you say ‘I love you’, without expecting anything in return, as unconditional love means not demanding anything in return!
  • Show and mean that you love them through your actions, more than just from words.
  • Surprise them with cards, chocolates, flowers, bouquets, gifts, outings, dinners or dates, which are great ways to say ‘I love you’. Share their chores, happy and sad moments, cook them their favorite meal and pamper them, after all they are your loved ones.
  • Compliment your near and dear ones, which also convey your love for them.
  • Take care of  and talk to the ones you love, and go right out and tell them that you love them.

We all have our own perception of the importance of Valentine’s Day, but if you truly love someone, then the whole year is as special as Valentine’s Day. Of course there are others who wait the whole year wondering, how to say I love you on Valentine’s Day, and for them it’s better to go ahead and say those magical three words to the one’s they love!

  1. There is no give give and take in Love. Yes “I Love U” is the most powerful sentence which shows how you love the other. But it should be told confidently. I love the point “Surprise them with cards, chocolates, flowers, bouquets, gifts, outings, dinners or dates, which are great ways to say I love you”.

    Thanks for sharing. 🙂

    1. Love should never be a give and take Ahsan!

However, some people do take it that ways, which makes the whole experience of love different. Saying those three letter words of love can make a lot of difference in your relationship, provided they are meant and said from the heart.

  2. Hi Harleena,

Great post, It seems you are Love guru LOL, I liked your one line “Give your loved ones a hug and smile when you say ‘I love you’, without expecting anything in return, as unconditional love means not demanding anything in return!

    Thanks for sharing 🙂

    1. Glad you could relate to the post Bashir!

Oh no…I am no love guru, though having fallen and being in love is something I can well relate to, so can speak through experience there! I know we do expect a lot in return when we say those three words or when we smile or hug someone, and that surely is natural. However, unconditional love means to give all of yourself without expecting anything. And when you do give so much, I doubt that you would go empty handed either. 🙂

  3. This was fun! I hope people have tried these to get the love of their lives! 🙂

Saying that you truly love someone is tough but one eventually gets there after realization. It should be something that puts you at peace and not something that makes you all worked up about it! 🙂

But one thing I would like to mention here is that say you love someone only when you mean it and are ready to take on the responsibilities that will come with it. The other person will get a little possessive but being possessive and being overtly capturing of someone is two different things. There are some emotions and changes that will come by with saying the three magical words; if you are saying it, be prepared for them! 🙂

    1. I hope they do try them out Hajra!

Love is a very splendid thing and an awesome feeling, and those in love are much at peace knowing that they are very much in love! Yes, it should be something that you have to struggle with, nor something that makes your life all worked up.

Of course, you should say these 3 magical words only and when you mean it, or else it has no meaning. And there are responsibilities that both partners have to be ready to take on, without really putting up any kind of conditions- for true love is unconditional. Being a little possessive is absolutely alright I feel, and I guess you would like it a little too, provided it’s within limits!

Everyone undergoes a transformation I feel, when they truly fall in love. And those changed emotions can only work in their favor, though again- I hope they don’t even go overboard with things. All that matters at the end is that you are in love and learn to love one another in the true sense- isn’t it?

      1. True sense is a heavy word! But yes, love is a complicated thing and makes sense if we make it easy ourselves! 🙂

        1. It is all again in the mind as they say. Things are tough if we believe them to be tough, and easy if we believe them to be easy. Love is complicated, but it is also the most beautiful thing. 🙂

Thanks for adding to the conversation. 🙂

          1. There is no heavenly thing in the world than love. I agree with your point. Things are tough if we believe them to be tough, and easy if we believe them to be easy.

            1. Glad you could relate to the post Ahsan!

Love is truly a heavenly feeling that only a few can experience. And yes, if you find things to be tough they will always be tough, and if you take them to be easy, they do turnout easy.

              Thanks for stopping by. 🙂

  4. “Give your loved ones a hug and smile when you say ‘I love you’, without expecting anything in return, as unconditional love means not demanding anything in return!” – Unconditional love is the best love given by us and received from others. But most people will surely agree that this can be the most difficult to achieve/receive because it can be a one sided love and not everyone is willing to be in that situation.

    1. That is so true Audrey!

If we can really love our near and dear ones unconditionally, without really expecting anything else in return, that would be the real love, in its true sense. However, it is very difficult to give and not expect anything in return, as we are all human beings and always want something in return. But I guess if we try, we can start learning to give more than receive and find internal peace by doing so.

      Thanks for stopping-by. 🙂

      1. I like the last part of your reply, find internal peace by loving unconditionally. It’s absolutely true because you won’t bother yourself asking too many ifs or whys that may result of comparing other’s treatment to other people around you. So many concerns will eat up much of your energy and time that may result for you not to enjoy the real meaning of love.

        1. That’s right Audrey- love should always come unconditionally – if it’s true love. That is what would really give you the much required internal peace and contentment.
