Can you open the doors to success without having the keys to success? Certainly not. That is why; today I’m going to bring together all the success quotes of successful people to unlock the secrets of success.

We find so many successful people around us. The good thing is that most of these people share their reasons of success to help others.

You also want to be successful, don’t you? Therefore, it is essential for you to know how successful people achieved their success.

It is also true that we all have different perceptions and understanding of success.

My criteria of success may be different from that of yours. What you consider as being successful might mean nothing to me.

However, amidst the differences, there are some common keys to success. The doors to success might be different, but the keys remain the same.

To extract the crucial essence of success, I have compiled a few success quotes of successful people from different walks-of-life.

But first, let’s understand the meaning of success.

What is Success

Dictionary defines success as an event that accomplishes its intended purpose. Success is also defined as an achievement, accomplishment, or a victory.

For some, success is a state of prosperity or fame. Most people consider a successful person to be an achiever and winner.

Even the accomplishment of an aim or purpose, completing an objective, or reaching a goal is considered as success.

Going by this, it does not matter is you are the winner or not, because success only implies that there is favorable outcome or the result that you expect or desired.

According to the business directory, the term success is used to describe a person that has achieved his or her personal, financial, or career goals.

Technically, success is an achievement of an action within a specified period or within a specified parameter.

Well, these concepts and definitions of success might hold good for some and not for others. You will know better from the personal accounts of the people who have tread the path of success.

Let’s learn what the successful have to say about success through their success quotes.

“What is success? I think it is a mixture of having a flair for the thing that you are doing; knowing that it is not enough, that you have got to have hard work and a certain sense of purpose.” ~ Margaret Thatcher

“Success is the progressive realization of predetermined, worthwhile, personal goals.” ~ Paul J. Meyer

“The whole secret of a successful life is to find out what is one’s destiny to do, and then do it.” ~Henry Ford

“Success is falling nine times and getting up ten.” ~ Jon Bon Jovi

These quotes give you a fair idea of how successful people define their success.

One fact that emerges by studying the success quotes of successful people is that success may not always be about personal goals.

“To know even one life has breathed easier because you have lived. This is to have succeeded.” ~ Bessie Anderson Stanley

“Success is…knowing your purpose in life, growing to reach your maximum potential, and sowing seeds that benefit others.” ~ John C. Maxwell

Also, success may not even be the achievement of your goals. You can be successful even if you just tried your best to achieve your goal, because success is all about DOING and self-satisfaction.

“Success is a journey, not a destination. The doing is often more important than the outcome.” ~ Arthur Ashe

“Success is peace of mind which is a direct result of self-satisfaction in knowing you did your best to become the best you are capable of becoming.” ~ John Wooden

“Success is the sum of small efforts – repeated day in and day out.” ~ Robert Collier

Isn’t it interesting to know the varied views of different successful people about success.

I’ll try to create a definition of success by summarizing these quotes to understand the meaning of success in a better way.

Success is the process of knowing what you want to do in life, planning to achieve those goals, and putting them to action by doing hard work at your best that result in self-satisfaction such that you love doing it, and keep on continually trying or making efforts even after facing failure.

Does it sound right? It is difficult to have a comprehensive definition of success, but you can try to get as close to it as possible.

I think it will help to understand the meaning of success if we try to know what success is not.

“Don’t confuse fame with success. Madonna is one; Helen Keller is the other.” ~ Erma Bombeck

“Prospering just doesn’t have to do with money.” ~ Joel Osteen

That’s it – success is not always about money and fame. It is a more deeper, vast, and meaningful concept. It is a state of mind that makes us feel good about ourselves.

“What’s money? A man is a success if he gets up in the morning and goes to bed at night and in between does what he wants to do.” ~ Bob Dylan

“Do something you really like, and hopefully it pays the rent. As far as I’m concerned, that’s success.” ~ Tom Petty

“There is only one success – to be able to spend your life in your own way.” ~ Christopher Morley

I am sure many of you will agree with this concept of success.

Finally;

“Success is not a destination, but the road that you’re on. Being successful means that you’re working hard and walking your walk every day. You can only live your dream by working hard towards it. That’s living your dream.” ~ Marlon Wayans

Success is living your dream. Do you agree?

I hope these success quotes help you bring some clarity to your meaning of success. I will go on and analyze the contents of success.

Recipe for Success

If you know the recipe for success, you will know how to be successful.

Analyzing from the above-mentioned success quotes, you can infer that success essentially consists of these parts or processes:

  1. Purpose – It is to know your destiny or that you want to do in life.
  2. Target – Create a goal and having an objective to achieve.
  3. Plan – Know how you want to go about to achieve your aim.
  4. Action – Do what you have to do or put in your best efforts or hard work.
  5. Outcome – Try to achieve favorable result that makes you feel good.

I hope you agree that if any of these steps of success are missing, you cannot be successful.

Okay now, as part of the process of creating a recipe, you need first to know the ingredients. So, here they are, the important elements of success.

Keyboard keys failure and success

The inclusion of failure as a key to success might have surprised you. Well, you need to take failure in your stride because it is very much a part of success.

You know that failures are the stepping-stones to success. Never be afraid to fail – those who fear failure can never really be successful.

Eventually, we are responsible for our success or failure. And, this quote says it best:

“Problems or successes, they all are the results of our own actions. Karma. The philosophy of action is that no one else is the giver of peace or happiness. One’s own karma, one’s own actions are responsible to come to bring either happiness or success or whatever.” ~ Maharishi Mahesh Yogi

But interestingly, you don’t have to worry much about how to be successful if you just follow this:

“Don’t aim for success if you want it; just do what you love and believe in, and it will come naturally.” ~ David Frost

I have used 72 success quotes of successful people to explain the key to success. However, probably many more quotes can complement the topic.

  8. Really inspiring! “Success” the universal word which everyone wants to achieve. But somebody fails and somebody get! Keep away yourself from destruction to make your dream come true!
    It’s my point of view.

  9. Success is finding your self fulfillment after going through a stages of self developments. Every day, we find ways to build ourselves up and make us stronger. We occasionally deal with internal thoughts that could be negative and in turn make us depressed. But it’s up to us to determine how we change that mindset. From there, we take action and set forth our course of self development.

  10. Great description though I believe success is the path you need to find on your own. Success is not achievement rather its a path you need to walk on.
My own quote : Always be satisfied with god but never be satisfied with yourself.

  11. Respected Harleena Madam & Vinay Sir,
I hope you both are fine. Firstly, I would like to represent my feelings regarding this inspirational article. Now I would like to tell you a tragedy of my life regarding motivation. Before 1 year I was working in a networking company and they were charged the employees with only one motivational quote that is ” Leadership is the power of a successful person.” Why I am telling this thing to you. Because now I am a blogger and I have a list of the best inspirational quotes. But these all quotes are not in my computer guide which has inspired me.
“What’s money? A man is a success if he gets up in the morning and goes to bed at night and in between does what he wants to do.” ~ Bob Dylan is very unique, motivational and awesome quote for me.
In last I would like to give a statement for Vinay Sir that is sir: I like those people who inspired me. And you are unique for me. So, sir thanks from heart for sharing this very inspirations list of quotes.

  14. This is my first time on this blog and I can bet that it’s best thing that has happened to me!

I got so carried away by Virgil’s quote: “They succeed, because they think they can.”

Once you believe in yourself, attaining greater heights will be guaranteed. These are really awesome quotes.

    Thanks for sharing.

  15. Success is certainly living your dream which is different for every single person. But in order to define what success is, you have to know what it means for YOU. One person’s success could be your nightmare!

I love Christopher Morley’s quote….success is being able to live the way you want. Once you do that, you are truly living life 🙂

  16. Hi Vinay,

Glad to see you on the Harleena’s blog 😉

Indeed, it is remarkable quote. If you want to succeed, then we must learn from successful people. No doubt about it. 🙂

I really love the quotes for “hard work”
That quote makes me motivated to do more than what I could. Thank you for this great quote, Vinay. 😀

    Nanda

  17. Great and inspirational quotes, is such a nice thing to start the day with this inspirational words. thks !

  18. Hi Vinay,

Good to see you again here at Harleena’s blog. You two make quite the pair now.

I’m a little late getting by here to share my thoughts on this topic but I do love quotes. Any type of uplifting quote is a good one in my book.

People have different views as to what success means to them. To me it might mean one thing while to others it might be another but I think of all the quotes you just shared here that Joel Osteen’s stand out the most for me.

I do think though that all of the qualities that you mentioned definitely have something to do with success. Failure stands out to me the most though because without having failed we wouldn’t know how great it feels to finally achieve something would we!

Thank you for your post and I hope you both are enjoying your start to this week.

    ~Adrienne

  19. Hi Harleena and Vinay,

I enjoy quotes, so when I saw your article, I had to check it out. Yes, I agree – it’s a great idea to keep in touch with what successful people are doing so as to glean from them if it fits our business model.

Success is different for everyone, I completely agree, as each of us has different goals.

I love John C. Maxwell’s quote: “Success is knowing your purpose in life, growing to reach your maximum potential, and sewing seeds that benefit others.”

Yes, I think your summarization of the definition of success does sound right. 🙂

In your list of essential parts of the process, I think people most often lack a real actionable plan – I know I did for a while.

    Thanks for the thought-inspiring article.

Am sharing right now. Have a wonderful weekend.
    – Carol

  20. Hello Harleena Mam and Vinay Sir,

Thank you very much for getting me inspired today. What a great compilation of inspirational and motivational quotes.

I always find time to motivate others and myself with great quotes 🙂

This one has always inspired me “Go for the moon.If You don’t get it, you’ll still be heading of a star” – Bruce Barton

Fear of failure is one of the main factors stopping people getting what they want in their life but If we don’t have confidence, we’ll always find a way not to win.

Thank you so much Vinay sir and Harleena Mam for this inspiring post 🙂

    Regards,
    Minakshi Srivastava

  21. This post can never be more timely for me. I have been at a cross roads after a disappointing exam result and not sure how to proceed but I have read some inspiring words here which have given me strength to try again. Thanks

  22. Success, to me, is having freedom – freedom to work, eat, sleep, and vacation, etc. when you want. It’s also having great relationships with your family and friends, and enjoying daily living. I think the latter is something we all tend to forget to do because we are so busy working all the time!

  23. Hi Vinay,

    Good collection of quotes.

Success is a big topic that everybody talks about from time to time and that people want. But I find that the real key to success is to be willing to fail. Not plan to fail, just be willing to fail. Because you can only learn from your mistakes. Your successes will never teach you anything.

The true problem with success is that it goes around disguised as work.

Really great post here and I’ll be using some of these success quotes I’m sure.

    Have a great week.

    – Andrew

  24. Hello sir, reading the title I thought yeah okay this is a Harleena madam special post. She must have written it because I was aware of madam’s love for quotes and believe me she shares the finest of them on social media. But Its you and I did not read such a delightful post on this topic ever. 🙂
I really love the quotes and most readers here will agree they were filled with great enthusiasm as they went munching the lines down towards the end of this post.

Keys to success are always the ones you mentioned but its we who ignore or fail to comply to them with.

I really liked all the quotes but what really took me to have a second look towards it and think upon me was
Take up one idea. Make that one idea your life – think of it, dream of it, live on that idea. Let the brain, muscles, nerves, every part of your body, be full of that idea, and just leave every other idea alone. This is the way to success.” ~ Swami Vivekananda

what a powerful quote it is!

Thank you for such a power packed post. I think this is the meaning of true blogging – bringing value to others life. And Aha!Now os the hero/ine in the game.
    ‘Bookmarking it. 🙂

  25. Hey Vinay,

What a detailed post and interesting quotes. I particular validate what Virgil said. Even the Bible says “as a man thinketh, so he is”

If you think rich, you’re much more likely to become rich. We have to cultivate an abundance mentality. Generating wealth is ultimately nothing more than a subconscious conviction on our part. If you can persuade your unconscious to think rich, you will get rich.

Excellent collection of powerful quotes Vinay

  26. Hello Vinay Kachhara,

Such a nice article, i believe that success is when you happy with yourself and you got that you thought, furthermore i would like to say that if you want to get successes then you should prepare yourself.

  27. Hi Vinay,
Success is subjective; it can be defined in as many ways as you wish. To my mind, it does not refer to just achieving your goals and then basking in the glory of those accomplishments. There is no end to goals. They keep on multiplying with each achievement.

Success is definitely being happy, being at peace with yourself; being able to look after yourself and being content. If you are not happy after all the efforts you have been putting in to earn money, then it is time to pause and redefine your success.I have discussed all these aspects in my book: When Success Eludes…you can find the link at my blog.

Thanks for sharing another inspiring post! Have a nice week!

  28. Hi Vinay,

Robert Collier’s quote is my favorite. Success is me posting an in-depth comment here, when Harleena publishes a new post to her blog. Then I do it again, 3 days from now.

I’ll publish comments on a bunch of other blogs in similar fashion. I simply share my thoughts, day after day, and when you factor in that I’m publishing 3 in depth posts each week, the sum of these seemingly tiny acts adds up in a big way.

Thanks so much for the share Vinay.

  29. Hello Vinay,
I do believe that being successful is doing what others thinks is not possible.

Success is getting all what you desire. Success is family 🙂

I’d say that all the quotes mentioned here are top class. Thanks for compiling such lovely quotes. Have yourself a blessed week ahead both of you

  30. This is awe-inspiring list Vinay!

    Bill’s quote of . . .

“In order to succeed, your desire for success should be greater than your fear of failure.” ~ Bill Cosby

. . . got me thinking about notes I’m taking on a course called, “Conversational Magic – Finding a Way of Thinking That Is Different Than The Thinking That Created The Problem”

In “The Structure of Magic” Richard Bandler and Grinder pointed out that, “One of the paradoxes of psychotherapy is that you have all of these very different psycho therapeutic approaches, some of them contradictory to each other, but the paradox is that they ALL work for some people.”

    How is that possible?

They pointed out that if you look deeper, that when an approach works, regardless of which method it is and who it was for, when it does work what happens is that this person’s model of the world is enriched. They now see more possibilities.

Einstein has a success oriented quote that goes something along the lines of, “You can’t fix a problem using the same thinking that created the problem” and now think about how one therapeutic approach could be very similar to how someone already thinks which is just more of what created the problem and how when a person goes to someone who introduces them to a whole different way of seeing their situation, this therapy works for that person.

Milton Erickson, the man who gave legitimacy to hypnotherapy, understood this at some level which is why he didn’t try to ram one A-B-C approach down everyone’s throat.

His primary question must have been something like, “What’s the way of thinking that is different than the thinking that is creating the problem and how can I bring that way of thinking to life inside of this client?”

A study was done on 100 cancer patients who’d been given a terminal diagnosis and yet, 10 years, 15 years later they were alive and healthy. The question the study sought to answer was, “What’s the difference that made the difference?”

They wanted to look at what these people did and find out if there was a specific treatment plan that kicked ass over all the other plans being followed out there.

What they found was that these people had, across the board, done different things, some of them being radical.

Some of these people followed the traditional medical approach, others had said screw the medical approach and followed a specific diet that they credited with helping them heal, others had done neither of those but instead relied solely on praying, other people had done psychological transformation work, and they couldn’t find any commonality within these patients that gave them evidence that one approach was superior to others.

The only thing they found in common with all of these patients was that ALL of these people believed wholeheartedly in their answer to cancer.

People who responded to chemo believed that it would help them. People who responded to prayer believed that would help them. People who responded to a radical diet believed that would help them.

Think about the Placebo Effect where you can actually give people fake medicine and people get physically well while taking it, in spite of the fact that they were taking nothing but sugar pills.

The only explanation for this is that their belief in what they were doing is what came to their rescue.

In order for your desire to succeed to be stronger than your fear of failure, you’ve got to believe that your outcome is possible for you to achieve, that you’re worthy of it, that you’re capable of making it happen and that it is your responsibility to make it real.

Belief is king. Without it, we defeat ourselves before we even begin. If anyone is looking for rock solid advice on how to get your beliefs working in your favor, I highly recommend looking up all of Robert Dilts’ material, especially the content directly related to belief change.

Thank you Vinay for sharing these quotes that remind me of resourceful beliefs that I need to have in order to continue moving forward in life. 🙂

  31. Hi Vinay

It is great seeing you here at Harleena’s place. You have compiled a great group of quotes here that are inspirational!

I loved your “Recipe For Success” Plain, simple but yet powerful. When you explained your “keys for success” I agree with you 100%.

To me, success must be celebrated! We may have a major goal, but each step we make, we celebrate. This reinforces us to keep on going until the said goal has been completed.

But it doesn’t stop there! As we grow, we want to achieve more goals, it can be business or personal ones.

As for failure – That is one component we do have to recognize. Nothing in life is perfect. The more we “fail” the more we learn. I always like to use the analogy of a baby’s first steps. They keep on falling down, they may skin their knee, but the keep on doing it until they master walking. It something we all did, and if we have that mindset, failure is not a problem at all!

Thanks so much for the inspiration.

    -Donna

  32. Hi Vinay
Door to success may be different but the keys remain the same. This is the moral of this whole post for me and may be for all. 🙂

You are absolutely right. Success is a relative term. Maybe my success is failure for someone else so we need not to be definite about this term personally but overall this is the most cherished term in each one’s life.

For someone success may be achievement and for some other it may be putting your best and leave the rest to God.

Even feeling of satisfaction by doing your best can be a great success for you.

So stopping to express my disperse views to complicate the sweet concept of success it is better for me to admit the biggest reality with regard to this post.

And the reality is THIS IS ONE OF THE BEST POSTS I EVER READ ON SUCCESS’.

The whole contents and their arrangements vocally speak of how indpeth research you have done to produce this awesome piece of contents that itself is a symbol of success.

Thanks a lot for doing much extenive research to make us stick to the path of success.

  33. Hello Mr. Vinay,

I would loved it the most if the title of this post was changed to something like this; ‘Biggest Successful quotes in the world which Talks”.
Wow! what a huge list with and with each one of them having to say. It took me a long time to read this post of yours as each quote makes me to think the more.
Thanks a lot for this and do have a great week.

  34. I love this article on “success” Vinay.

There certainly is a wide variety of definitions. I think that we are all successful in some way, yet there is a tendency to look at others and compare yourself. We forget to stop and pat ourselves on the back, always looking at what we don’t have. For example, I have a comfortable home, not big and not fancy. I may (erroneously) compare it to the home of a friend or relative who lives in a mega-home with a lake and boat. You know what I mean? It’s not a healthy habit. I have had to train myself to relish in my own success. Success is not measured by things. You know what I mean?

  35. Hi Vinay,

First of all, you’ve put together an incredible compilation of success quotes. Many of them are my favorite and I am going to bookmark this for sharing some of them on social media from time to time 🙂

Speaking of my success criteria. I believe –

“Your success is defined by the number of people who are better off because you lived.”

Perhaps this is my favorite because it resonates and summarizes many other definitions of success and becomes a sum total of who we become when we practice success principles.

Thank you for this inspiring post. For me, it’s morning – the best time to get some motivational tonic 🙂

    Regards,
    Kumar

  36. Very encouraging post! Success can’t be defined. It is different for different people. Yes, some people consider money and fame as pillars of success, but they fail to realize that those are just the toppings on the real thing. I mean, it’s good to have money and fame as well, but they don’t define the real caliber of a person. Success has got something more to do with overcoming your weaknesses and being in a position to inspire others.

  37. Thanks Vinay, great post and nice collection of quotes.

My favorite is Henry Ford and Jon Bon Jovi. Personally, I love Henry Ford and always find his inspiration and enough motivations in reading his words and works.

    Thanks Vinay and Harleena.

  38. Hi Vinay, great post.

I think success is living the life you want – waking up each day excited for the new day to begin and doing what you love during 99% of it. Whether it be work or spending time with loved ones more.

One must be passionate about their work too in order to be successful. How would one who hates their job go to work and be successful day in and out? I love the quotes with this post – whenever I get down I turn to quotes, thank you for sharing!

  39. I’m a believer in that we cannot judge success until it is over and it is never over. Not even when we die. I think we’ll still have chances to be different and change. Because I am involved in so much, I do come short a lot. Its just pure numbers. But I never get discouraged. I choose loads of things consciously knowing that they won’t all work. And when only some do, I don’t sweat it. I celebrate the good things and keep going. I learn tons from my mistakes, so I keep making more of them!

  40. Hello Vinay sir,

I have read your article completely. I m a new reader and happy to have found you. I’m impressed by your blogging. I hope that others will learn from you as I do. Thank you again for all your help.

Excellent blog, Thanks so much for sharing

  41. Hello Vinay and Harleena,

Key to success is not easily found. We work hard to find it. Vinay, your article is an inspiration to us. You have mentioned here some steps which are really wonderful. One habit I always follow to get success that is “keep patience”. Thanks Vinay and Harleena once again…

    1. Hi Moumita,

True, working hard is in itself a key to success.

I’m glad you like the post and find it inspiring.

Patience is definitely a great virtue and the quote by Napoleon Hill too emphasizes on it.

      Thanks for sharing your thoughts!

  42. Nice quotes, but I’m sorry to say it – this article felt like an exercise in SEO more than information.

I mean, how many times can you use the word success before it starts to become a little unnatural? :'(

“Can you open the doors to success without having the keys to success? Certainly not. That is why; today I’m going to bring together all the success quotes of successful people to unlock the secrets of success.”

Would have felt much more natural to read if it was:

“Can you open the door to success without the right key? Certainly not. That is why I’m going to compile a list of quotes from successful people; to unlock their secrets and hopefully guide you towards success for yourself.”

SEO friendly but much more human.

I’m not trying to be overly critical, but I always aspire to be honest with my opinions. This felt a little rushed for me. Sorry!

    1. Hi Chad,

Thanks for your honest and critical feedback. To tell you the truth, I did have the SEO in mind and tried to start with it but did not enforce it throughout the post. Ummm.. nice suggestion and I like it. Well, you can certainly write in different ways and I’m sorry if you felt the first para was a bit unnatural. Honestly, as you noted, it was a bit rushed! 😉

Okay, but how about the rest of the thoughts and ideas in the post? Would love to know your feedback on them as well. 🙂

      Thanks for sharing your thoughts!

  43. Hi Vinay,

Great article on a very interesting topic. I find it hard to define success, as it means different things to different people. To me, success is not so much about the planning, it’s more about the feeling of happinness. I know it takes planning to get there, but planning itself sometimes makes me feel happy, and that’s what it’s about, at least for me.

I have a vision and I have many different goals and outcomes, but the process in itself is sometimes what makes me feel good.

    -Jens

    1. Hi Jens,

Success is really difficult to define but easy to understand. It’s as you said all about being yourself, being happy, and loving what you do and your life. If you’re in that state, physically and mentally, I think you’re successful.

I think the last quote by David Frost says it all – you don’t plan or aim for success, you just do what you love and believe in dedicatedly with all your heart and mind, and then planning effortlessly and silently becomes a part of the process.

Thanks for sharing your thoughts and taking part in the discussion. 🙂

  44. Hello Vinay,

This is a long article but really a worth read.

Everyone has his own definition of Success. It is not same for all peoples in this world. We have to do some smart work backed with Hard work with success.

The quotes of famous peoples you shared here are really inspirational. I follow Swami Vivekananda and his life lessons, quotes to know the meaning of life. All their quotes are motivational.
Just like ” Put your Heart, Mind and Soul into work, that is the real way to success” .

All other factors like Attitude, enthusiasm, smartness, Politeness, Etc. are important to lead towards success.

    Thanks for this wonderful post!
    Have a Nice Day Ahead!

Well, i found this post shared on Kingged.com and commented on it.

    1. Hi Swaraj and welcome to Aha!NOW,

Glad you like the article in spite of its length.

I’ll just echo my thoughts that I wrote in reply to Corina’s comment above and what I wrote in the post too – the doors of success may be different but the keys of success are more or less the same! You’re right, success is all about being smart and working hard as well.

These are important keys emphasized by Vivekanand and Sivanand – when you become one with your aim with all your mind, body, and soul, you achieve it!

Thanks for sharing your thoughts and taking part in the discussion. Have a great week ahead. 🙂

  45. All wonderful quotes Vinay. If I had to choose a quote it would be a combination of Jon Bon Jovi, Marlon Wayans and Michael Jordan. 🙂

I agree in that we all have a different point of view to define success but we are all on the same journey…just getting there differently.

Thanks for sharing these quotes! Have a great new week!

    1. Hi Corina,

You chose the quotes about working hard and overcoming failures to achieve and live your dreams on a daily basis. That’s really how you become successful!

I believe you can apply this fact universally to almost every aspect of our life – different paths but the same destination. or, the same journey but different experiences. 🙂 We all have something in common!

Thanks for sharing your thoughts and wish you too a great week ahead!

  46. Hi Vinay; thanks for sharing your thoughts on success. a couple of my favorites come from movies. One is from star trek first contact. the question is asked how do you become a great man. the answer is you worry about being a man and let history worry about the rest. another is from last star fighter. when opportunity comes along you got to each out and grab it with both hands and hold on for dear life. for me personally I separate success into personal and financial. I have learned that i can be successful without getting rich from the experience. I like to say I am a success my bank account just hasn’t caught up to me yet. 🙂 this was a great post. Looking forward to more of them. take care, max

    1. Hi Max,

Star Trek is one of my favorite telly series and movies! I agree that just being yourself and doing your best is the way to go. Opportunities are really the seeds of success, if you miss them, you don’t grow the trees of success in your life!

Well, the quote by Albert Schweitzer in this post says that if you’re happy and love what you do, then you’re successful. I feel your personal success can beat your financial woes or even create great opportunities for your financial success. Remember that success is also a state of mind, and mind rules over matter. 🙂

Thanks for sharing your thoughts and taking part in the discussion!

      1. the point i was trying to make is that for most people success is financial. I can stay positive because I understand there are personal successes to be cherished and celebrated that will not necessarily bring you riches. and often it takes a lot of these small victories before you see the more tangible benefits of your labors. this is why it is so important to do what you love if at all possible. or if you aren’t doing what you love, you need to find things about what you are doing that you can love. or you can take steps to determine what will make you happy and find a way to make this your career. thanks for your reply. take care, max

  47. Great post Vinay. Awesome and truly inspirational quotes. One key that I’ve used that has helped me to be successful in life thus far is “Be yourself”

We are unique in our own way and everyone has something to offer that’s always going to be different from the other person. Another key is to discover what you are good at, and work at it one step or one day at a time.

    1. Hi Yvonne,

      Glad you like the post.

That’s a very important key to success – even if you imbibe the qualities of the successful people, you need to be yourself and be original!

I think discovering yourself is a part of finding your purpose, which you can only do if you understand yourself and your drives.

Thanks for sharing your thoughts and taking part in the discussion. 🙂

  48. Hi Vinay, Welcome to Harleena’s place! I love your quotes about success, especially the ones about failure. I’m a big fan of failure, I believe it paves the path to success.

I agree with this quote in particular: “Failure is success if we learn from it.” ~ Malcolm Forbes. You can’t really experience success without experiencing failure first.

Thanks so much for the inspiration, Vinay!

    1. Hi Carolyn,

      Thanks for the welcome. 🙂

I feel each one of the success quotes by the successful people is a gem in itself. So many of them have emphasized the importance of failure, and we just can’t ignore that.

It’s like the value of light, which you can only appreciate if you’ve expeirenced darkness – thanks for sharing your favorite quote.

      Have a great week ahead!

  49. There are many quotes that i have referred to and below two are my favorite,

“Start by doing what’s necessary, then do what’s possible and suddenly you are doing the impossible.” -St.Francis of Assisi

“All power is within you. You can do anything and everything. Believe in that” – Swami Vivekananda.

IMHO Pursue excellence, and success will follow 🙂 Thanks for sharing these wonderful quotes.

    1. Hi Sri Varshan, welcome to Aha!NOW

Thanks for contributing your favorite quotes. Both of them are great and essential to follow if you want success.

You’re right; just do your best, and then you have the best chances to be successful.

Thanks for sharing your thoughts. 🙂
