This is a guest post by Ikechi Awazie, one of the gems of Aha!NOW. He wants to tell you why you matter to yourself, somebody else, to us, and to the world.

Have you ever thought about the reason why you matter?

It seems the world is so big. There are more than 7 billion people on earth. So how can you stand out? What do you have to offer? What do you have to contribute that matters?

You are properly struggling with this emotional pain; self-doubt, insecurity, fear of not belonging, feeling puny and being insignificant.

It is not your fault, and you most certainly are not alone.

We live in a society that enjoys picking on the minority or less worthy.

Sadly, many of us are living among these minority groups where the color of one’s skin, gender inequality, religious background and other norms, seems to be the measure in which some groups are marginalized by a society that values one idea over the other.

Now the world might not acknowledge your worthiness;your family and friends may not adequately communicate the importance of your existence in their lives, and you might feel you have nothing that matters.

However, the truth is that YOU MATTER and from the bottom of my heart, here are the reasons why.

Being YOU is What Makes The Difference

You are enough! Maybe you have no skills, no knowledge, and no riches.

Maybe you think that you are not good enough, smart enough, and not great or perfect at doing things.

But no matter the number of permutations and combinations plus genetic experiments, there is no one that can be like YOU. Why?

It is because you are valuable. You have an individual purpose that cannot be compared with others.

As long as you stop comparing yourself to others; as long as you stop doubting your endowed abilities, you will see that you are the amazing creation blessed with amazing blend of unique gifts; above your self-imposed limitation.

“No matter who you are, you can provide value. We each have an individual purpose. Always Believe in You.” ~ Brooke Griffin

A baby inside a gift box and a quote that you matter.

You Have a Gift That Others Need

There are people who get their problems solved just because of you.

If you did not exist, those people who need your help, would never be helped.

Without your presence, those people, who would have made their lives better will lose this opportunity forever.

You do matter in ways you never imagined. You can throw more light on a situation that no one else can possibly provide.

You cause a rippling effect just by giving a helping hand; just by taking a little action.

Your solution enables people to achieve a fulfilled life, and this spreads to their families and their entire generation until it becomes a legacy or philosophy.

Now, some people may not like you; some people might even detest you, and that is ok because you truly cannot please everyone.

However, those whom you have been called to make a difference and be of service will cherish your existence and your business.

“Never forget that you are one of a kind. Never forget that if there weren’t any need for you in all your uniqueness to be on this earth, you would not be here in the first place. And never forget, no matter how overwhelming life’s challenges and problems seem to be, that one person can make a difference in the world. In fact, it is always because of one person that all the changes that matter in the world come about. So be that one person.” ~  Buckminster Fuller

Your Voice Does Matter

Why would anyone decide to make the greatest impact in your life?

Why would anyone want to provide you with guidance, direction, and coaching – to enable you to achieve your goals and biggest desires?

I will tell you why.

It is because of their sincere belief in you. In words and action, they show you that you matter; they believe in your VOICE.

You do have a unique message and voice. This is what people know as a STORY.

Yes! Everyone does have a story, including you. No one can tell your story better than you.

Your story has the power to make a difference, to build up courage, to leave a mark, to make people overcome their limitations, and to make someone feel belonged.

The world is waiting for your life changing lessons. Your pain, conflict, heartache, and passion are challenges that can be turned into a life lesson and be shared with everyone.

Do you know that there are people who are listening to you and you have caught their attention? Think about this.

“The one thing that you have that nobody else has is you. Your voice, your mind, your story, your vision. So write and draw and build and play and dance and live as only you can.” ~ Neil Gaiman

Your Presence Automatically Liberates Others

You do not have to be on the center stage to make a difference. The reason is simple;

There is somebody out there that is proud of you; thinking about you; cares about you; wants to talk to you; misses you; celebrates your success; wants to hug you; believes you are a blessing; admires your strength and courage; values your wisdom; treasures your spirit; can’t wait to see you; has faith in you and trusts you so much.

Your existence is a sparking light to so many people. There are people in your life that you inspire.

“There are people in your life that you inspire…People that see all your best qualities… People who want to be more like you… People who don’t understand how you can’t see all this yourself… Try seeing yourself as they do… See yourself for the amazing creation that you are…” ~ simonboylan

You are Influential and the Change Which the World So Desires

Ever wondered what a football match would be without the fans.

Ever wondered how a presidential speech would turn out without the people of the nation.

Ever wondered what a cause would be without supporters.

Ever wondered how celebrities would come to be without celebrators.

Ever wondered how like-minded individuals would exist without YOU.

You are an influence, whether you believe it or not. You are the change because your small encounters do matter.

The moments that you create are what make the world a better place.

As you teach others your passionate skill sets the goal.

As you set a good example and show others positivity in a negative world.

As you show others your determination and doggedness to success by taking advantage of failure.

As you let your light shine, you unconsciously give light to others to become thought provoking leaders, professional champions, peace makers, renewed activist, creative personalities, renowned business men, awesome mothers, wonderful fathers and revolutionaries.

Let’s not forget that you are also changing your world by applying your wisdom to tackle the world’s problems.

“Never doubt that a small group of thoughtful, committed citizens can change the world. Indeed, it is only one that ever has.” ~ Margaret Mead.

One bulb is different from other many bulbs and stands out

You Can Make A Difference

Yes! You want to help; you have a cause that will benefit people.

You might be an introvert; you might not have enough skill. You might not have the resources.

You may not have the charisma of leadership. You might not even know what you are doing, but there is something inside you that is so powerful.

You have an inner voice to propel you to action, which is the greatest currency in the world.

It is this action that defines your impact.

It is this action that makes you step away from the things you love, which gives you comfort and forges you towards giving support to humanity.

It is this action that enables you to make a difference and become an inspiration, even though your journey is full of uncertainties.

“Anyone who thinks that they are too small to make a difference has never tried to fall asleep with a mosquito in the room.” ~ Christine Todd Whitman

The Most Powerful and Happiest Truth is That You Matter.

Now, you do know that you matter. Never let anyone make you feel otherwise.

I would like you to reach out to someone and let them know that they matter. Remember that a word is enough to make a difference.

Over To You –

In your own words, I will like you to share why do you matter. If you still believe that you are not significant and don’t matter in this world, I will love you to share that as well in the comments.

  2. Hello, Ikechi and Harleena,

Awesome guest article, Ikechi, so happy to see you here at Harleena’s place!!

You have most definitely have, my friend, created a beautiful article that is motivational and inspiring – well done!

Because I’m a Christian and believe in the principles of the Bible, I believe every single individual on the face of the earth has tremendous value, whether they realize it or not.

It is definitely a shame when someone doesn’t realize their worth, and I’ve tried to encourage others in this regard.

I come across a lot of people that have a low self-esteem, and low self-worth, and it’s a sad situation. I’m sharing your article out so as to encourage folks with this extremely important message.

Yes, “Your Voice Does Matter” – love this takeaway. 🙂

Thanks so much for sharing, and I hope you have a fabulous weekend.

    Take Care,
    – Carol

    1. Hi Carol

Thank you so much for such words of wisdom and encouragement which gives me strength to keep spreading the word. 🙂

You are right that every individual matters in this world. No matter how we feel about ourselves, there is a message in us that has the ability to make a difference; only if we stand up to our calling without fear.

Thank you again for your kind words. Have a wonderful week.

    2. Hi Carol,

Another late reply, sorry! I guess I’m making good use of my blogging break now 🙂

You are right about Ikechi’s guest post, which is inspirational indeed as it makes us realize that we do matter, every one of us.

Most people lack self esteem or feel low about themselves due to various reasons. I guess they surely need to read this post and feel good about themselves. Each one is awesome, isn’t it?

Thanks for stopping by, we appreciate it 🙂

  3. Hi Anoop

Thank you for the kind words. I am glad you liked the topic and all thanks goes to Vinay and Harleena for their support

I am glad you agree that we each have an individual purpose to fulfill and God has made so that our roles will fit so perfectly well based on His will.

Thank you for sharing your insight. Have a wonderful week.

  4. Hi Ikechi

The topic that you have chosen for the post is just great. Everybody can correlate with it.

You are right each one of us has come to earth with an individual purpose. God has created role for all of us which fits in very well in his overall scheme of things on this earth. So let’s play the game of life with complete team spirit.

Thanks a lot for sharing your wonderful thoughts. Have a nice weekend.

  5. Hello Ikechie,

You’re an inspiration. I want to firstly congratulate you on your guest post. It’s an achievement in itself. Secondly, great title choice. I’m sure every single person who reads this will feel really good about themselves. There’s so much depth to every sentence in this post.

We do matter indeed. Everyone of us. As you mentioned we forget the gifts that we have. We have been placed on this earth with a purpose. We simply have to find it and share it with the world. But this gets hard for so many out there as there is this temptation to compare…”Oh he/she is too good…How am I ever going to surpass them?” If we get rid of such attitude we sure will be able to see our true potential.

Of course I do matter:) I matter because I know that I have so much more to offer to the world which I haven’t given yet. I still have to create awareness around so issues I care for and I know people will listen to me. I’m here to make a difference. That’s why I matter:)

Oh that feels so good Ikechie.

Thank you for such a lovely post. You’re Awesome:)

    1. Hi Hema

Sorry I was son late to respond such a wonderful comment. I am pondering why I have not responded.

Thank younger such kind words. I am humbled by your kind words. You are so right that we do matter. We are unique in our purpose and our gifts which is why each and everyone is important.

I also agree that it is sad that we compare ourselves even when we know that we are unique. I am glad that you were inspired by this post and yes you do matter.

Thank you for sharing your wisdom. Have a nice week.

  6. Hi Linda

What a great quote by Oscor Wilde and it is so true. I remember this quote too.

Thank you and I am glad that you were inspired by this post. I can relate to what you have said. Sometimes in trying to help everyone, we can make ourselves seem irrelevant but we matter; we are important.

Meditation does help so much. Like you have mentioned, it helps to make us aware of our inner selves. Thank you for sharing your insight.

    Have a wonderful week.

  7. Hi Ikechi,

Beautiful post. Each of us are different and you brought that to light. Oscor Wilde once said “be yourself; everybody else is already taken”. I love that saying and it is so true.

You bought light to everything a person can be or could become. So many of us put ourselves on the back burner because we’re to busy taking care of everybody else. Each one of us has so much to offer if we would just stop, take a minute and think about the real person we are inside. Meditation is a great way to get in touch with our inner selves.

    Wonderful post!

You have an awesome day and weekend ahead,

    Linda

  8. Hello Ikechi,

This is a wonderful and uplifting post. We live in a world where we are bombarded with so much negativity, especially by the media. No one should be made to feel that they don’t matter because we all do. We are all unique and we all bring something to this world. It is said that no one is alike not even twins. That tells us something right there. That means no one is like you. We shouldn’t want to be anything but ourselves. Thanks for sharing this with us! I really enjoyed reading it!

    1. Hi Maketta

Thank you for the kind words. I agree with you and such a sad thing to happen to a beautiful world. I do wonder why there is so much negativity and why the media encourages such too but nevertheless, we all can make a difference to the world.

Each and everyone is unique with an individual purpose that will make the world a better place. Thank you for sharing your insight.

  9. Hi Jens

I so much agree with you. The greatest fulfillment in life is not how much we receive but how much we are willing to give.

There are so much benefits in inspiring others. There are people who really need our direction and experience to help them overcome their challenges.

Thank you for sharing your insight. Have a nice week.

  10. Hi Ikechi

Very interesting topic and your post is awesome. I absolutely agree, we all matter because each of us are unique. One thing I believe most of us should focus more on is how we inspire others, not just how successful we are alone, but by doing things that’ll help others to do remarkable things.

  11. Hi Carolyn

I don’t think I am aware of Janet and I have not come across her blog but from the way you described her, I do know that she really is an inspiration. I am curious to know why she left the blogging world

The HASH TAG #youmatter is so powerful. Such words will always carry so much power because it says the truth that we all matter. Each of everyday of our life is what makes the difference in this world. As you mentioned, we take ourselves for granted while history shows us how we defined change in this world.

Thank you for such a lovely comment. Have a wonderful week.

  12. Hi Ikechi, What a wonderful and uplifting post! You’re right, people do matter and are truly unique. So often we take ourselves and others for granted but we really should appreciate the uniqueness of ourselves and others.

Your posts reminds me of one of my favorite bloggers, Janet Callaway, who isn’t in the blogging world any more, but had wonderful blogs and tweets using the hashtag #youmatter. So simple, yet so powerful.

I will be sharing this widely in the hope that your inspiration continues to lift up others.

  13. Hi Ikechi,

Glad to see you here. This is really a motivating post! 🙂

Actually I am very sure that every human being in this world has something that will be useful to others. I believe that every person has unique characteristics that would be useful for nature and other people.

There is no single human being useless. If they had been born into this world, then they are matter. They are the ones who will bring change to the world leading to a better state. 😉

Thanks for sharing this great post with us, Ikechi.
I will start to share it right now. Have a nice day for you!

    ~Nanda

    1. Hi Nanda

So brilliantly said; I love your words and you are right. We do matter and have the power to change the world. This world is ours and each of our actions can make a difference even if it seems insignificant.

As long as we value our nature, we will pass on this fire to others. Thank you for sharing your insight and I am humbled by your kind words.

      Have a wonderful week.

  14. Hi Nikshep

Glad to see your comment and I am glad that this post made a difference for you.

You are right about victim mentality. I for one have seen how self doubt have robbed people of their ability to make a difference because they feel that they don’t matter.

Thanks for the lovely comment and have a wonderful weekend.

  15. Wow. You totally nailed it in this post, Ikechi!

I’m sure this post will raise the self-esteem of EVERYONE who reads it!

It reminds me of the post I wrote for Sylviane Nuccio, too, a few weeks ago. I opened up about my past, my rape, and how I moved forward despite the negativity in my life.

Leading by example is a great motivator.

If others can see how you have risen, they will move their lives forward, too.

    1. Hi Lorraine

Thank you Lorraine. I am humbled by your kind words

Yes I did read that post and I was so inspired because you overcame all challenges and you are an inspiration not only to the world but in the blogosphere. You decided to give light to others.

Love your last statement. If others see how you have risen, then they will rise up to the challenge and move forward. Thanks for the word of wisdom. Have a swell week.

  16. hi ikechi; what a wonderful post. we are so lucky to be part of this community and receive such wisdom on a regular basis. i have gone through this whole process in my own life over the last eight or nine months. I’ve gone from i’m not special to i’m not an an inspiration people won’t want to hear my story to knowing that i inspire people just by being and doing every day and that people need to hear my story. they tell me this all the time I often hear if max can do it then what is my excuse. and i wouldn’t have gotten here without many great friends like you and harleena and vinay and the rest of my online family drumming it into my head that i do effect people’s lives. loved the quote about the mosquito. thanks for sharing my friend. xoxo max

    1. Hi Max

      So great to see you

I had you in mind when I was writing this post. You have really showed a lot of people that they do matter by using your gifts to light their darkness.

When I wrote sub title that You can make a difference. I was reminded about your awesome book. You know most people feel they are worthless because they feel they have nothing to offer. This is not true because we have something in us that is powerful; you revealed this me by making a difference despite your situation.

Thanks for sharing your insight and being an inspiration. Have a wonderful week.

      1. hi ikechi; funny how you were thinking of me when you wrote it and i was wondering if i had some influence on that section as i was reading it. 🙂 that’s the kind of connection we can make even over the net if we are open to it. am happy to inspire people wherever i can. just last week i inspired the jahova’s witnesses. 🙂 never let an opportunity go by. now i’m learning about using my new iPhone and had to put off a few of my own deadlines because there is a bit of a learning curve with it. so i’ve decided to be kind to myself and i know my readers will understand. thanks again. you really did write an important post. Its the kind that people need to hear more often. you have a great weekend, max

  17. Hi Ikechi,

This is an important article as many people experience unworthy thoughts due to all the items you’ve mentioned in your post. It can range from color to non-education and many others. Great post for as you were able to clearly spell out why eah and everyone of us is worth it.

    Great job.
    Barbara

    1. Hi Barbara

Thank you for the words of wisdom. Like you have so mentioned, people are struggling with being significant because they have been labelled and lied to about their nature.

This post will definitely let them know that they matter beyond what they can imagine.

Thanks again for the compliment. Have a splendid weekend.

  18. Hi Ikechi

I find this post to be very inspirational and encouraging. The quotes are spot on as well.

So many today do not think that they matter or have something to offer in this life to others simply because of their past experience where they were made to feel insignificant or worthless. It takes courage and grace to reach the depths of where these persons find themselves and to help them back up on their feet again. I think you have done so in this article.

Everyone matters! Everyone have something to offer no matter how small or unimportant that it may seem. Have a great weekend.

    1. Hi Yvonne

So good to see you here Yvonne.

I am surprised that so many people feel that they don’t matter to humanity but I can relate to their situation.

The struggle of trying to be revelant is as a result of the fact that the world has tried to define our existence but the world was made for the man and not man for the world. So we do matter whether we believe it or not.

Thank you for the kind words. Have a splendid weekend. 🙂

  19. Hi Ikechi

So glad to see you here as guest author at Harleena’s blog.

It shows you have developed your authority in your niche that is why featured at one of the best blogs of the blogosphere. You are so lucky really.

The topic you covered in this post is actually a binding force for those who yet to achieve success and just struggling while fully believing in their own skills and passion.

I remember a famous song “You can win if you want” and this motivates me a lot to keep struggling. 🙂

If someone fully understands that he is created in this world as a unique being in terms of features and qualities then no one can stop his way as he will sell his uniqueness to this world.

Thanks a lot for sharing this wonderful post.

    Have a great weekend

    1. Hi Mi Muba

I am humbled by your kind words. Thank you for being inspired by this post.

It is sad that people are struggling and feeling so lonely just because their signifance is being grappled upon.

We are created to stand out no matter how many we are on this planet. Each of us have a task to fulfill which is unique. The good news is that we all can spread this message to others that they matter.

Thank you for sharing your insight and have a splendid weekend.

  20. Hey Ikechi!

Congratulations on your guest post yet again! 🙂 lovely title and blog-post. Often self-doubt and victim mentality takes away the true inner strength of the spirit we all possess!

You have indeed summed up beautifully the reasons why one needs to believe in themselves and become architects of their own destiny! Have a great week ahead 🙂

    Cheers,
    Nik

  21. Ikechi nice to see you at Harleena’s blog. And the best thing is that the first post of yours on aha-now is going to motivate many.

We should understand that everyone has a different life and one needs to understand that why we matter. We should have self respect and understand that everyone has something unique to standout in the crowd.

If we will always stay positive and believe that we can achieve what we want to, then definitely we will be able to become successful in our life.

    1. Hi Mohit

Thank you for the wonderful comment. I am sure smiling 🙂 because I am thrilled that this post is bringing smiles and inspiration to everyone.

This is actually my second guest post and you can read the first by clicking above the author box, at the end of the post.

I agree that self respect and understanding each other will make us understand how important we are to humanity. Each and every one does matter.

I love your conclusion as you are spot on. Thanks for sharing. Have a swell weekend.

  22. Hi Donna

Being expecting you to make a comment as your words always make a difference to me.

I know how much your light shines in the blogosphere. Lot of bloggers including myself can testify to the fact that you are inspiration to this generation.

You are so spot on that we all matter and the truth is that humanity would never have existed without each and everyone of us. The saddest thing is that some people bear so much pain because they feel that they do not matter.

Well! it is our job to make them realize that they matter so much. Glad you are ready for this worthy cause :). Thanks for sharing. Have a nice week. 🙂

  23. Hey Ikechi,

This was a world of motivation and inspiration. We sometimes need post like this to keep us moving forward, balance, and self confident! There are times when I get off balance, become stagnant and lose all self confidence but it’s through these kinds of post that fuel me up with the energy needed to keep living with pride and keep pressing forward.

I matter because I’m here as you mentioned. With being an introvert I’ve shown that introverts can be successful at blogging and entrepreneurship as well as salsa dancing ;)… Yes just those two are known for extroverts but that’s a limited way of looking at it. And this I’ve proven as well as others!

Great post Ikechi! This post has just started the weekend right for me!

    1. Hi Sherman

Oh! you are an introvert. Yet you have made a difference in the blogosphere. This is great to know because you are a living witness that on can be an inspiration to the world.

I can relate to what you have just shared. There are times when we will go through feeling sad and off balance which is why I wish there was a way we could pin this post in peoples’ heart 🙂

I am glad that you are inspired by this post as it reveals that you do matter. So no matter the challenges and situation, please do remember that your actions are making a difference.

Thanks for sharing. Have a wonderful weekend. 🙂

  24. Hi Ikechi,

What a beautiful article and so inspiring. I believe everyone matters! We are all unique and have special gifts to bring to the world. The sad part is when someone doesn’t realize this.

I know I mater because God made me. My trust and belief system always raises me up, even if I get those moments in life where I feel down.

I have met so many people from all walks of life and I’ve seen a beautiful soul. I think they matter, even if they don’t think so. If I have the chance to communicate with them, I’ll tell them so.

    -Donna

  25. Hi Ikechi,

A gem of a post. In today’s world when the atmosphere is so judgmental, it is very easy to consider yourself insignificant.

Thus the depression, suicides and self-pity. But this understanding that we are all unique souls can wrap us up in a warp blanket.

A truly eye opening post. Thanks a ton to you and Harleena Ma’am for this one.

Have a great day ahead both of you!

    1. Hi Nisha

Glad to see you and thank you for the thoughtful comment.

I agree that how we perceive ourselves is based on the influence of the world. Today with increasing competition, it is not strange to see a lof of people suffer from feeling so insignificant.

This has really led to very brilliant and exceptional people loss their life and talent being wasted just because the world feels like one doesn’t fit in. However like you have so brilliantly mentioned that we do matter despite our challenges.

Thanks for sharing. Have a wonderful week. Thanks again for sharing 🙂

  26. Hi Ikechi,
    Welcome to Harleena’s Blog.
    Well Explained Inspirational Post.
Usually when we visit our friend Harleena’s Blog. We always expect very high-quality article. She always delivers that. It’s very hard to deliver quality article all the time. But she is real master in producing great articles. You also doing the same now.
I like this paragraph very much
    You Can Make A Difference

Wow all the lines are awesome. No words express my happiness.
Hope you write more posts on her blog.
    God bless you
    Have a Nice Day.

    1. Hi Perambur

What a lovely comment and thank you for the kind words.

Harleena is a master of producing quality article so it is no wonder that she has spread this light to every member of ABC :).

I am glad you liked the post and I thrilled that some words in the post resonated with you. I love that too because it true and shows how much we do matter to humanity.

Thank you again for sharing your insight. Most certainly when given the opportunity, I will write again. 🙂

  27. Hi Ikechi,
I so enjoyed reading your article. Self doubt and negativity are those gremlins that creep out from the back of our minds when we least expect it. Your article is uplifting and inspirational reminding us that we all have something to say and each of us makes a difference. Thanks for reminding all of us.

    1. Hi Patricia

Thank you so much and I am happy that you are inspired by this post.

Self doubt is so contagious; negativity can be compared to a disease because when allowed to stay in one’s mind, it can sap every positive attitude.

Which is why I do what everyone to know that they matter and should never let anyone make them feel less.

Thank you for sharing your insight. Have a wonderful weekend.

  28. Hi Ikechi,

A truely inspiring post which made me look back at my strengths once. I remeber someone saying “the day you stop living for yurself is the day you are dead from this world”. I do respect all your ideas in the article as I too believe that “No two people see the same world” and I even ask it to myself when thoughts like comparing with someone comes to mind.

I feel so glad to have you as a friend and people like you will make the difference by sharing the light that your wik has got on fire. Yes, ‘you could be someone’s treasure’ makes me feel proud of myself and my living.

Thank you so much for inspiring me at this moment of crisis. It filled up juice in my life again.

Live long and be the light to the world 🙂

    1. Hi Sasidhar

I am glad that this post inspired and made you to know that you matter in this world. You might be facing so many challenges but I do know that you have made a difference in this world. You have given people light. So don’t be hard on yourself because you are an influencer.

I am also happy to have met you too as you have made a difference in my life.Thank you so much for such a thoughtful comment and I must say that I am humbled by your words.

Do have a wonderful week my friend 🙂

  29. Hi Ikechi,

This is where it starts with everyone. Believing that they matter because they do. Once a person has seen this truth it’s always there with them no matter what they are going through.

This doesn’t mean they will be happy all the time but what it does mean when a person knows they matter is they understand that if they just hold on they will get through adversity.

Then they will have life experiences to share with others.
    Thanks!

    1. Hi Vernon

You are so right. When one has come to term to his nature, it sticks with him no matter the situation.

If one can see himself as an amazing creation, full of light and amazing ability, then he most certainly will be able to share his experience with others.

So I agree with you that for such situation to occur, he must first believe in himself before his light can reach others.

Thank you for sharing your words of wisdom as you raised some true facts Have a nice week.

  30. Hi Ikechi
First of all, congrats on being the first guest author to write a second post. You deserve it, buddy.

I love the selection of the photos. And, I really like the image of a girl with a message ‘You are a gift’. Our voice matters. Our story matters. Our identity matters. In short, every individual on this planet earth, matters.
We need to come above all the narrow mindsets to understand the worth of every individual. We must look every person by his/her potential. So, we have to boycott all these dirty mindset.

Ya, we are influential. Our authority is not determined by our position in the external society. Our real authority is determined by our position in our inner society.
Thanks for providing such a motivational post. Lucky to have you, buddy. Lots of love

    1. Hi Yatin

Being expecting your comment and I am thrilled to see it.

Thank you for the kind words. I am humbled by your compliment.

Kudos goes to @admin and @vinay-kachhara for the wonderful pictures. Yes they are so apt. You are so brilliantly summarized the post by saying that everyone does matter. We might still struggle with feeling so insignificant but as long as there are those who spread to light to those in darkness, people will come to embrace their uniqueness

You are also spot on about authority and being influential. It is not something external but an inner voice that is powerful beyond measure.

Knowing you has made so much difference:) Thank you buddy for your words of wisdom. Have a wonderful week.

  31. Hi Ikechi,

Congratulations for writing another inspiring post! You have touched on almost all the points.
Sometimes I wonder why people think that they don’t matter…thankfully I haven’t met any such person but I have read about them and my heart goes out to them for the struggle they have to face to understand that their role, in whatever circumstances they are placed, is pre-defined.

What to talk of people…even an ant and a spider could give invaluable lessons to those who paused to observe them. I have always felt that I DO matter in a big way and I have been proving that right at various stages of life, in all the roles that were assigned to me. Besides that I have always learnt from each and every individual I have met. So we all matter and if somebody thinks otherwise, s/he needs help in a big way to think positive and realise how beautiful the world is!

Thanks for sharing a wonderful thought. Have a blessed day!

    1. Hi Balroop

Thank you so much for the compliment

Stange isn’t it that people will look down on themselves. Well I have seen people exhibit this behaviour. I have had friends who feel that they don’t matter even when I constantly show them how important hey mean to me.

You remind about a quote that says ” “If you think you are too small to make a difference, try sleeping with a mosquito in a room”.:) and I have experienced them so much.

Thank you for sharing your insight as I know that you making a difference. Thanks again for the lovely comment. Blessings to you too.

  32. What a fantastic article Ikechi and a great reminder of the presence of our being! Someone recently asked me what makes me revolutionary and I had to pause and think about it. Because although I know deep down we are all revolutionary beings simply having taken a spot in this physical plane, I default to think revolutionary means needing to lead some sort of radical movement. But as I pondered upon the word revolutionary, I came to see the word as to ‘revel’ in the ‘evolution’ of yourself. And as you continue to develop into the fullest expression of yourself and your fullest potential, the feeling becomes contagious and those who you are around you, those who you are meant to touch in some way, will start to experience life in a different way and it becomes a domino effect. It’s so amazing and exciting how we are all connected in some way. Thank you for a lovely article!

    1. Hi Theresa

What a lovely point that you have raised. You know you have made me to ponder on the same word.

You are right that we are all revolutionary beings. As I said, we are influencers that cause change and development on this planet. Those who have allowed their nature to be expressed in full, have always made the difference.

One thing I have discovered is that humanity itself has always made the difference. The only problem is that we have not accepted this fact. You are spot and right that when one accepts his being, he becomes contagious for others. There are examples of Legends to prove this fact.

Thank you for your words of wisdom. Have a lovely weekend.

  33. Hi, Ikechi! Great to see you on AHa!Now.

This is such an inspiring post as I know many people you think they don’t matter. That their voice doesn’t matter and that they can’t possibly be themselves for fear people won’t accept them.

I matter because I do have a Voice and I know how to use it. I believe each and every one of us can make a difference IF we learn to be ourselves and not hide.

Thank you for a fabulous post. Gladly passing it along.

    B

    1. Hi Brenda

      Great to see you too.

I do agree that there are people who are afraid to be themselves. I have seen people put on a mask so that they can be accepted by others. They feel pained that they are not true to themselves but for fear of rejection, sacrifice freedom for validation.

I am happy for your assertiveness. You do matter. Your blog reflects this truth too and you are making a difference in your own way 🙂

Thanks for sharing your insight. Have a lovely weekend.

  34. This is an excellent article and right on time for me personally today. No one knows the journey of another unless they take the time to listen. One should never assume another is unimportant because you never know what a person has gone through to reach the current status. Again, excellent article.

    1. Hi Clearissa

Yeah your points are spot on. We should never assume that one is useless or worthless, no matter the situation we find such people in. No one can judge anyone unless they have faced the same situation and possessed the same personality of such individual and this never happens.

I remember a friend of mine during my early school days. She was termed a prostitute because she slept with so many men including teachers. When I had an interaction with her, I understood her current situation. She was an orphan with no one take care of her neither did she have the privilege to receive counsel. No one understood her plight but judged her wrongly. Today she is doing so well.

Thanks for your lovely comment. Have a wonderful week.

  35. Hi Ikechi, this is such an uplifting post! I have some days where I feel what I’m doing helps others then I feel proud. Other days though, I feel insignificant. I think that’s human nature so this post is much needed for us to feel motivated and continue with our goals. Thank you for this message today.

    1. Hi Lisa

Thank you as your kind words have made a difference 🙂

Yeah I can relate to what you are saying, It is a struggle indeed; the thought of feeling insignificant which is why I believe there should be a way to take this post and fuse it in our hearts so that we will forget how important we are to humanity. 🙂

I am glad this message inspired you to know that you do matter. Have a wonderful weekend.

  36. Hello Ikechi,

Welcome to Harleena’s blog and congratulations on the opportunity to guest post here!

You have written such a wonderful and inspiring post. I love the quote you shared by Buckminster Fuller. It seems so many people are trying to be like someone else and get so consumed by it that it they tend to forget it’s their individuality that makes them special.

I truly belive we are here for a specific purpose and we have different, special qualities and talents that go with it. When we put them all together, it’s the world we should be living in.

Thank you again for writing such a lovely post! I hope you’re having a great week!

Thank you Harleena for letting Ikechi share his post here. I really enoyed reading it. I hope you’re having a great week as well :).

    Cori

    1. Hi Corina

Thanks for the warm welcome and I am happy that you enjoyed the post.

I do love the quote of Buckminster and his message is what we should keep in our hearts and he is right when he says that each is us is special and one of a kind. 🙂

I like what you said and you are right that when we add our uniqueness
together, the world becomes a cool place to live in. When people understand what you so brilliantly shared, the world won’t be a place for unhealthy competition. There will be love expressed everywhere.

Thank you and hope you have a jolly weekend as I will definitely have a relaxing weekend too :).

  37. Hi, I kind of needed to read this post right now…Self-doubts are such a pest on your minds and hearts…they gnaw at your existence and set you back. But I loved the wonderful things you have written here, the difference one can make just by being themselves…it’s inspiring to read and know you matter, and just holding that thought in your heart makes the world seem so much better!

    1. Hi Shubhangi

I am so delighted that you were inspired by this post. I know the feeling of Self doubt which is contagious and this because we constantly struggling with trying to stand out.

Yes you matter Shubhangi and so those everyone in ABC :). Knowing this makes one overcome every challenge and have fun in the world plus you get to share this thought to others that they matter too.

Thanks for the kind word. Have a lovely week.

  38. Hi Ikechi,
Well done bro. It’s a great post that truly can raise anyone’s level of self-respect. I am glad I read this post because I now think “I matter”.

I loved the post overall but the point where you mentioned that we all are influencers did a fabulous job. I mean everyone knows it but no one reflects on the fact. I can now say that at least those who read the post can happily say that they are an influencer.

That image of the bulb was an epitome of inner light for me. I remember @admin maam share an image on facebook that had a palm saying “you matter” and I now say yes we matter.

Great post bro. keep going. 🙂

    1. Hi Swadhin

Thank you for the kind words and I am happy to know that you know the truth that you do matter.

It is a sad thing that most people don’t know that they are influencer and they seek others to validate and bestow influence. Yes when you look at people that have reached the peak of success, it is the people they mingled with that made it so as you do remember the saying that no man is an island.

I have followed you in your blog and you have made a difference in my life. You are an inspiration; please don’t forget this :).

Thanks to @admin and Vinay for the apt images. Yeah they are so inspiring. Thanks for the thoughtful comment.

  39. Hi Ikechi,

Great Post. Because it helps us to realize that we need each other to stay in this world. Our existence isn’t unnecessary and worthless.

Every face is different. Every voice is different. World has got an abundant resources of smiles, happiness and care. We need to find it, feel it and share it with others.

    1. Hi Hassan

Each of us has a part to play in this world. We have a part to fulfill to each other that is why each individual matters so much.

Yes! There is a reason every face is different and every voice looks distinct. There is a reason why twins who look the same have different personalities. It is because we are unique.

You are right that the world is blessed with an abundance of unique beings with unique smiles. I wish everyone understood what you just mentioned as it would be easy for people to share love and happiness with everyone.

      Thanks for sharing.

  40. Nice post!

Everyone matters. I agree with Mohinder. If you don’t believe in or love yourself, no one else will.

There has to be a reason “why” all of us are on this planet. Is it for the soul’s growth and expansion? Is it to help other souls grow and expand? Whatever the reason, know that you are valuable and bring something of value to those you meet. But, it’s up to you to recognize that you are valuable and matter.

    1. Hi Amandah

You asked a very interesting and thought provoking question. Why are we in this world? Why do I exist?

We are all here for a purpose. Even if we can’t easily grasp this concept, we are all here to make a difference. I have always believed that each and everyone matter. The only problem is that we believe in this myth that we must be in the center stage before we can make a difference. This is a myth I discourage in my blog.

You don’t have to be a celebrity to make a difference. Your little action even when you are not recognized can cause a revolution.

It is sad that most people seek validation from others to make a difference when in fact they can make a difference because they matter.

Thank you for the lovely comment.

  41. Hello Ikechi Bro, Thanks for the great Post. Really just amazing. I agree with your every points. Specially two points:

Your Voice Does Matter and Your Presence Automatically Liberates Others.

    Totally great post indeed

    Cheers

    1. Hi Tonmoy

I am glad you are inspired by this post and you are that you do matter. I know this is so true because you are making waves in the blogosphere using your voice to make a difference in the SEO World

By taking such action, you are liberating others just as you have so brilliantly mentioned.

You have a voice; every individual has a voice and it the collective distinctive voices that make our world so progress.

Thank you for the kind words. Have a lovely week.

  42. Since today morning this is my second post on the same topic and i just want to tell that if you can not believe yourself, no other people will ever trust you.

Thanks for sharing this motivational and inspiring post and I would love to copy few of the content to write in my personal diary.

    1. Hi Mohinder.

If this is your second time of reading this topic. It is to confirm that you do matter:)

There are people who are going through so much doubt about themselves and it seems that if you don’t trust yourself, no one can trust you.

However there are people who are looking up to you even when you have doubts of yourself. There are people who are wondering why you are not seeing how wonderful and blessed you are created. There are people who are surprised that you are not you.

So even when you don’t trust yourself, some people trust you. This is more the reason why you so matter.

Thank you for the lovely comments and I am glad you used some of the content in your personal diary. It is about you 🙂

      1. Hi Ikechi
I do agree with your all sayings in the post and my comment reply. Person is not believing himself/herself can not believe on others. This is my personal experience.

Before 5 years from now, I was a guy who not believing on myself and so not on others but few people like you changed my thinking about having trust on myself.

Now I am a total changed personality with positive thoughts and inspiring others who are having a negative thought like I was having before 5 years.

Thanks for devoting so much time in writing such a motivational and unique post. I am waiting for your next motivational post.

        All the best.

  43. Hi Ikechi,

Congratulations for being the first guest author to write a second post on Aha!NOW – you certainly deserve it 🙂

However, I’m sure many would get this opportunity now as guest posts are open to ALL.

Coming to this post, it is certainly very soul-lifting and motivating. This will pump up life in any person deflated with negative thoughts, self-doubt, and low self-esteem.

I agree that every person in this world matters – we all have potential to do and be different as well as to make a difference. We just have to change our mindset and look from different perspectives.

Even if there are billions of people, you and I still matter, because we have different purposes in life, and we all can do our bit that can directly or indirectly be significant to the world and its people.

It’s the spirit that matters and we certainly are a gift in this world – each person is a gift and they cannot be compared. Our experiences are different, personalities are unique, and we all have the light within us.

I feel good after reading this post as I’m now reinforced with the belief that I matter. I can make a difference in this world through my blog, no matter how small it may be, but it’s doing its bit.

Thanks for this lovely post, and I’m sure you’re ready to answer the comments and questions by the readers. You know I’d be here just to welcome new comers and reply to comments addressed to me – the show is all yours! Have a great time doing that and enjoy the spotlight on Aha!NOW. 🙂

    1. Hi Harleena

I first want to thank you and Vinay for giving me this opportunity to guest post in ABC. I also want to give kudos to Vinay for suggesting this post title. You guys are an inspiration and so awesome.

There are people in this world with great abilities and gifts but have made to feel that they don’t matter. This post is to prove them wrong.

No matter how many people are here on earth, no matter how many personalities are present, no matter how many gifts each individual possess, we all do matter in ways that we cannot imagine. Yes we have individual purposes that are unique and meant to serve our generation.

Just like you wrote in a guest post, we are made to live a legacy be it good or bad. So we do matter.

Thank you for the kind words and encouragement which is why I always love ABC. Relax as I assist in replying comments today:)
