The last few days have been simply wonderful and joyous for me, which have already warmed up the coming days of December!

Soon after my recent interview with Joanne at #InspireChat, much to my surprise, another good friend of mine, Samantha Bangayan passed on the mesmerizing Sunshine Award to me that just made my day!

I have known Samantha for quite some time now, and her wonderful blog tells you everything you ever wanted to know about Peru, while her other blog tells you about career and personal development. Her blogs are a ‘must-visit’. Thanks so much Samantha once again for thinking of me as worthy of receiving the award.

(Update : – Just need to thank another dear friend Jimmy Tong for passing on the Sunshine Award for the second time to me  – surely a double bonanza treat! His blog is all about personality development,  positive energy and creativity. Do stop by and visit it to be truly inspired. Thanks so much Jimmy for adding me to your list of awesome bloggers! )

(Second Update:- With the close of this year, the Sunshine Award sure is making its round at this blog! I was privileged to be once again awarded by Ruth Zive, who is a freelance writers and has a wonderful blog and writes about technology, parenting, lifestyle. Be sure to visit her wonderful blog and get to learn a great deal from her. Thanks so much Ruth for adding me to your list of wonderful bloggers!)

(Third Update:- This award has truly made my day today, as I just received another honor from Carolyn Nicander Mohr of Wonder of Tech, whom most people lovingly call the ‘wonder woman’, because of the wonderful posts she puts up! She is a lawyer, wife and mother to three teenagers, besides being a polygadgetist who has been entranced with personal technology for over 20 years. Her blog is all related to what’s happening in the technical world, the latest gadgets, iPads, iPhone, and just about anything!)

(Fourth Update:- Wow! Being nominated the fourth time by Jodi Aman on Heal Now and Forever was wonderful. Jodi was nominated by me long back for the same award that she’s given to me today thanks Jodi! She is a counselor, mother, healer, lover, teacher, and friend, and her blog helps you heal spiritually, mentally, emotionally, and physically. Do check out her blog!)

The Sunshine Award sure is a wonderful way to recognize and pass on the torch to more amazing bloggers, whose blogs continue to inspire and motivate so many others like me.

This prize is awarded to “bloggers who positively and creatively inspire others in the blogosphere”. As an award winner, there are a few rules I need to follow:

  • Thank the person who gave this award and write a post about it.
  • Answer the questions below.
  • Pass on the award to 10 fabulous bloggers, link their blogs, and let them know you awarded them.

Sharing the love and spreading the sunshine with ten more inspirational bloggers. Congratulations to each one you!

1. Ann Tran at Ann-Tran – Having recently met Ann on Twitter, her posts are full of life and talk all about blogging, inspiration, travelling, wine, hiking, nature, and photography.

2. Joanne Cipressi at JoanneCipressi – A wonderful empowerment personal life coach and warm person, Joanne’s post inspire and touch the hearts of many like me.

3. Arvind Devalia at Make it Happen – A recent acquaintance, his blog posts are inspirational about practical advice as he conveys his message through them to make the world a better place to live in.

7. Jon Mertz at Thin Difference – Having recently met Jon at #InspireChat, his blog is based on his thoughts on life, choices, faith, and leadership.

8. Bernice Wood at Living The Balanced Life – Though I don’t know her that well, her blog posts inspire you if you are struggling to balance your work, family, and life. She writes about being curious, productive, renewed, connected, having faith, and living healthy.

9. Colleen Shibley at Shibley Smiles – One of my new friends, her blog is an awesome place for great giveaways and reviews, health and fitness, recipes, entertainment, and other resources.

10. Penelope at Penelope’s Oasis – A work-at-home mom, her oasis is the perfect place where she talks of marriage, beauty tips, favorite products, and enjoying life one day at a time.

I wish I could nominate more bloggers who inspire me with their creativity, honesty, and openness, but as I have to follow the rules, I can just mention ten here.

I’ve named those whom I have not mentioned on this blog earlier nor nominated for the versatile award I had received a few months back, and passed on the torch to these deserving bloggers.

Now my answer to the following questions:

  • Favorite Color – I love sea-green, colors of pink, and any soft-pastel shades. Though of course, I easily fall for deep red or maroon as well, and the colors of autumn always touch my heart!
  • Favorite Animal – Undoubtedly dogs, as I have always had one right under my cradle ever since I remember being a baby. Similarly, the same thing followed up with my kids as well and we have an adorable one at home.
  • Favorite Number – Never really gave it a thought till now, but I guess it would be either 2 or 5.
  • Favorite Drink – Hot cup of coffee or tea to rejuvenate me! I am all in for fresh juices as well.
  • Facebook or Twitter – That sure is a tricky question! It was Facebook for quite some time, and it still is, though recently I have started making more contacts on Twitter, in-fact learnt a lot more about it.
  • Your Passion – To love and live life to the fullest, help others, make life simpler and a better place to live in. Love to make new friends, be there for my friends, family, kids, and work alongside.
  • Giving or getting presents – Both! I think all of us would love surprises and gifts are always welcome. However, I also enjoy gifting people whatever is available, as even small things and deeds do matter.
  • Favorite Day – Any day other than a Sunday! I do wish I could have said a Sunday, but that is the busiest day for me as my kids are home and it is a day kept away for their demands and needs! I guess Saturdays are great for a get-away, and Tuesdays to Fridays are great days for putting in lots of work!
  • Favorite Flowers – Roses, ah – how I love them! Any color would do, though the red roses take my heart away. Though I simply love flowers and of various shapes and colors, roses are an all time favorite for me.

So, there you have my list of awesome bloggers, whom you must take out time to visit. And my favorites are all up to share with all of you as well. I would also request the awardees of the Sunshine Award to pass on this award to other deserving bloggers.

Do you think we have anything in common or do you have favorites, similar to mine? Do share in the comments below.

  1. Congrats!!!

Mesmerizing indeed! Your love for rosy pinks is apparent on your blog! 😉 I loved the point about Sunday! When I was studying in college in India I always said my favorite day is Saturday because that was the day we had the least work and always looked forward to the next holiday so yes, the day before the holiday is always the best day I feel! 🙂

Loved knowing more about you! 🙂

    1. Thanks so much Hajra!

It was indeed humbling to be given the award, something that I never expected 🙂

Ah…I love all the vibrant as well as the soft colors, though pink is always a favorite- besides the shades of red. I did try both of them, but then the blog looked too bright- so mellowed it down with light grey.

Saturday’s and Sunday’s were my favorite days as well, though many years ago. But now, it’s all devoted to doing things for the kids or sorting out the home- as weekend is ‘no-online work’ day for me, and kids take full advantage of that 🙂

Thanks so much for stopping by 🙂

      1. So Sunday is totally offline for you? That is interesting. Though I vowed to spend at least one day offline, I never got around to doing it. Now once in while I just go offline for a day or two.

That must be so refreshing to do it at least once a week! I must find inspiration in that! 🙂

        1. Lol…well…hmmm…not the real sense to be very honest Hajra!

I do come online, but just to check my mail and reply to some important ones. And yes, I do reply the Twitter or Facebook messages or even some comments if any. But that is all- I meant to say that I do no work, research, nor writing. So, whatever little time I spend online is over within 1-2 hours and then I am at their disposal 🙂

But yes, you are still young and have the advantage of not being married, nor have kids! So take a break over on weekends and relax a bit or go out with friends etc. I guess when you are determined you can do it, though you got to ‘will’ it first 🙂

It does refresh and tire me as well! But no complaints, as these are the joys of motherhood that come part and parcel with other things.

          1. LOL! But yes, the little bit of sorting out work makes sense otherwise when you come back you will be flooded with a lot of things! But the day I go offline, I make sure I don’t come online otherwise I will be stuck here for hours!

Yes, I am taking advantage of the fact of not being married and not having kids! When my sister was not married; we used to skype almost everyday; now she has two little kids and she just finds time to call us once a week or even less! Priorities change over time and it makes perfect sense! 🙂

            1. It is just a little time I spend with my feet up, as I know the rest of the day I will tied down with just being a full time cook-cum-mom! And yes, I have to forcefully shut off my laptop even though I am tempted to end other tasks online.

Yes indeed, priorities do change even though we may not like them to. Sometimes, somethings just can’t be helped- just as in your sister’s case. Guess you all must be understanding her situation or calling her instead 🙂

Thanks for the wonderful conversation 🙂

  2. This is a really great post as it shares a few new blogs that I have already taken to, I have know of and liked Jodi Aman for a while but all the others are new to me.

    Congratulations to all the recipients.

    1. It would be nice if you do check them out Sally!

Though most of the bloggers mentioned are fairly new acquaintances, I wanted to give the readers of this blog a chance to get to know other wonderful bloggers in the blogosphere- so that we can all learn and share things with each other.

Thanks so much for the kinds words, and yes indeed, it is wonderful to have friends like you. 🙂

  6. Hi Harleena,

This is the first time I am hearing about this Sunshine thing. I love the concept. It is another wonderful way for me to get to link up with more bloggers that radiates love all around them.

This also gives me a great chance to find out more things about you. Everyday, my online love grows for more and more people like you.

It is also coincidental that I have just written something about myself. Check it out my friend and let’s learn more about each other.

I will also be sending you a request for a piece of work I am doing, hope you will help me.

    Cheers Sunshine

    1. The concept of receiving and giving such awards sure is wonderful Jimmy!

It sure is the first time I also heard about it, and Samantha has indeed been kind to pass it on to me as well. I loved the name- Sunshine Award, as it does brighten up the day of the recipient and gives an opportunity to spread and share the sunshine with other wonderful bloggers.

Indeed coincidental to learn more things about you, sure makes us connect better with the person behind the blog. Similarly such awards also give us a chance to express a little bit about ourselves, and that is what makes the bond closer. Isn’t it?

Would love to help you if I can. Thanks so much for stopping-by. 🙂

  7. Congratulations, Harleena! Samantha was very wise to select you. You define Sunshine with your beautiful smile and sunny disposition.

How wonderful to discover so many new blogs! I follow a couple of your recipients on Twitter but haven’t visited any of these blogs. I will have to check them out. 🙂

Best wishes for much continued success, Harleena! 🙂

    1. Samantha has been very kind and generous by passing on the ward to me Carolyn!

That indeed is true- the sunshine award did bring a bright smile to my face! The best part of receiving and passing on such awards is that we get to know such wonderful people in the blogoshere, whom otherwise we may never have known, and we also get a chance to share whom we know with our friends and others.

Thanks so much for your kind wishes and for stopping-by. 🙂

    1. Welcome to the blog Colleen!

Your blog sure is wonderful with such awesome niches and giveaways. I have been reading quite a few of them and thought you were surely deserving of this award! I do hope and pray that you pass on the torch to others and help spread more sunshine around.

Thanks so much for stopping-by. 🙂

  8. You certainly are deserving of the Sunshine Award Harleena! 🙂

I only like to receive gifts, just kidding, I would love to be involved in Philanthropy someday.

    Take Care…

    1. Ah…your kind words Justin!

When I saw my name among so many other wonderful bloggers, I was indeed humbled to be simply placed beside them. I have still got a long way to go, but am on the way now. I think you are already dong a wonderful job by putting up such great posts on your blog and connecting to so many of us!

      Thanks for stopping-by. 🙂

  9. Hi Harleena,

There are a few of these type awards floating around. I always find them interesting when as a result I can learn more about the recipient concerned and also be introduced to blogs that I don’t yet know.

Your post has fulfilled both of these beautifully! 🙂

Like you I am also a dog lover, having always had dogs myself. Most of them have chosen me for a reason and all have been my teachers too. Just coincidentally, most of the people with whom I align are dog lovers. I always think if someone loves dogs then they must know something about loving kindness.

Thank you Harleena, I enjoyed reading your post!

    ~Marcus

    1. Yes indeed, such awards are a great platform to meet other bloggers and interact with one another Marcus!

Glad you liked the post, and this time I did want to introduce my new friends to the readers of the blog, so that everyone can get well acquainted and luckily the award a good medium.

Oh yes, I have yet to pass a single day of my life without having dogs around me! I think they are simply wonderful companions and understand us so well. That sure is a wonderful coincidence Marcus to be connected with people who are dog lovers! Yes indeed, those who love dogs or pets for that matter would be with a kind heart, loving, and giving as well.

Thanks so much for adding more value to the post and am glad you like the posts as well. 🙂

  10. Congratulations Harleena for getting the award – and many thanks for passing this award over to me:-).

I wish you well on your journey of spreading love and sunshine.

    Enjoy the festive season!

    1. Welcome to the blog Arvind!

You do deserve the award for the wonderful posts you put up that inspire many like me. Yes indeed, Samantha has been kind enough to pick me among her awesome list of bloggers for passing on the award to as well.

I do hope and pray that you too pass on the torch to other wonderful bloggers and spread the sunshine, so that we all get to know a little more of each other. Warm wishes for the festive season as well!

      Thanks for stopping-by. 🙂

  11. Harleena,

Glad to see you on this list, so congrats! I’m just glad to discover great people like you and Samantha in my short time here in the blogosphere. Good to know you!

I don’t recognize many of the names here, but will have to check them out.

Love the site and I certainly look forward to having some great online conversations down the road.

Hope you have a great day.

    1. Welcome to the blog Craig!

Thanks so much for the kind words, and yes, Samantha has indeed been kind enough to pass on the award to me. However, I wish I had a longer list of people to pass on the ward to, as there are so many wonderful bloggers out there like yourself, who are so deserving of such awards.

I wanted to pass on the torch to other bloggers whom I have not named earlier nor nominated for other wards on this blog and who are rather new acquaintances to me, but I do know their blogs are awesome. This would help all of us to get to know each other better and interact more with one another.

Glad you liked the site and thanks so much for stopping-by. 🙂

  12. Harleena,

Congrats your sweet lady! You deserve this award so much! I swear I feel your spirit all the way over here in the States…it simply radiates through your words and the smile in your photo. 🙂

And, I am so honored that you have passed this award over to me. I am grateful for our connection. You certainly do bring more sunshine into my life.

    Hugs!

    1. I do feel humbled and honored on receiving the award Joanne!

My happiness doubles when I pass it on to awesome and inspirational bloggers like yourself. I know no one deserves it better than you, for your kindness and warm heart. I remain ever so grateful to the Almighty that we met as well, and hope this friendship lasts a lifetime.

Thanks for stopping-by, and I hope you pass on the sunshine to other deserving bloggers. (Hug back!) 🙂

  13. Congratulations you have a really awesome blog that I just came across recently. Looking forward to reading more of your posts!

    1. Welcome to the blog Lisa!

Glad you liked the blog and it’s nice of you have stopped-by as well. I would surely be checking over your blog as well.

Thanks once again, and do visit the blog again for more stuff. 🙂

  14. Thank you for the shout out!

I appreciate and I’m honored you find my blog inspiring!!

    1. Welcome to the blog Fadra!

You are most welcome and your blog deserved it. I love the honesty with which you put up the posts and have been reading quite a few of them as well. Glad to be connected and hope you pass on the award to other deserving bloggers as well.

      Thanks for stopping-by. 🙂

  15. Harleena, you are SO deserving of this award! Thank you so much for accepting it and sharing more about yourself! =)

I’m a huge dog lover too and I love the image of your family dog sleeping under Harleena as a baby! I wish I could have one now, but my apartment’s too small for a big Labrador (my dream dog!) What kind of dog do you have? =)

I also love the image of coffee or tea being rejuvenating. My doctor has told me to stop drinking caffeine for now and it’s hard to find anything decaf here in Pero, so lately, I’ve been drinking a lot of hot water and it feels freshening too. =)

    1. I need to thank you Samantha for thinking me as worthy of receiving this award!

You sure did add more sunshine to my day! Ah…I just love dogs and I think there could be no other better pet than them, though of course I loved the way you named penguins in your post, which is a rarity! I guess we have a large open area so that gives my dog a lot of freedom to run and jump around. I have a Pomeranian, though I have had a lot of breeds earlier also. I think as long as you connect with them, any kinds is alright. All they ask for is a little bit of your care, love, and attention- and are quick to give it all back to you, without any demands whatsoever.

I don’t really overdo with the tea and coffee, just a cup in the morning and green tea in the evenings does wonders for me. I guess sipping it with my husband does the rejuvenating part for me! Oh yes, warm water with honey and lemon is a must-have for me, and that is the first thing in the mornings I take before I set off for my walk! More about that in my next post!!

Thanks so much once again. 🙂

  16. Awesomeness, Congrats on yet another award, my friend. You do know what that means don’t you? That totally means that YOU ROCK!!! 😀

That’s one awesome list you have there, Harleena; of bloggers and fascinating things about yourself! It’s always great getting to know you a little bit better. I loved what you put for your passion. I would more than likely put the same thing that you put; minus the kids. That hopefully will happen for me some day too. 🙂

I will definitely have to come back through and visit each of the bloggers that made your list, as well. As I scanned it, I didn’t recognize anyone’s name except for Joanne. Since I know how awesome she is, and how great of taste you have in blogs (clears my throat); I know that each of them have just got to be as phenomenal as you say. So definitely a must to check them out.

Thanks for sharing, and again Congrats on spreading the Sunshine! 🙂

    1. Ah…your kind words Deeone!

I indeed feel humbled and honored to be given this award, thanks to Samantha for thinking of me. To be very honest, you were on my list as always, along with so many others. But I wanted to name and pass on the torch to those whom I had not mentioned earlier in my blog, and whom I knew were wonderful and inspiring bloggers as well.

I knew you could relate to the passion I wrote about, and that is what made us connect in the first place as well I think. I am happy also to share more things about me through the post, I guess such awards to make us come out with more of ourselves, and share it with everyone.

You must check out the list of bloggers, and yes you are right- except for Joanne, most of them may be fairly new acquaintances. I have visited their blogs and loved it, though never had the chance so far to really connect with them. I thought passing on the Sunshine Award to them was the right thing to make the readers of this blog, connect with more awesome bloggers like them.

Thanks so much for stopping-by, and adding more value to the post. 🙂

  17. Ah, so you’ve joined the ranks too Harleena. You are very deserving of this fabulous award. Samantha did a wonderful job in choosing you too.

I haven’t written my post yet, will save that for a little later in the month.

I always enjoy learning more about people so that was a fun part for me. We know we have those dogs in common, we’ve chatted about those precious ones. The favorite number is going to get me too. Never gave that much thought.

Will be sure and check out the list of bloggers you’ve mentioned here. I’m seeing some unfamiliar names pop us. I love checking out new blogs or at least they are new to me.

Great post and loved you sharing this with us. Hope you’re enjoying your day!

    ~Adrienne

    1. Indeed honored to be placed on Samantha’s list and have my name among so many wonderful bloggers like yourself Adrienne!

It sure was tough to choose just ten bloggers to pass on the award to, as the list is so long of wonderful bloggers in the blogosphere.

I guess such awards do give us a chance to connect with new bloggers and get to know them a little better. I too love reading about people, just the way we both learnt our common love for dogs! I still can’t forget the video I saw on your blog.

It would be nice if you could spare some time and check out these bloggers, as each one of them has something different to offer and are unique in their own ways as well.

Thanks so much for stopping-by, it is always wonderful to see you around here as it encourages me a great deal to move on. 🙂

  18. You deserve this. You are a very well connected and respected blogger so I can’t think of a better candidate.

In a way I’m relieved I wasn’t listed, because I don’t know how well I could elaborate on my favorite flower or animal.

Love your site. I will have to check out your recommendations.

    Bryce

    1. Your kind words move me Bryce, though I know I am just about learning things!

You sure were on my list as well, but I thought of connecting these new bloggers with the readers of this blog- so that we have a wider audience. Ah- favorite flower or animal, those are easy for me to choose, guess I have always had a dog right through the time I remember, and flowers always inspire me to bloom each day!

Thanks for stopping-by and sharing your kind words. Would be nice if you can check out the recommendations, and it is indeed a pleasure to connect with you- as always. 🙂

  19. Harleena, Wow! Thank you!

This is unexpected but very much appreciated. I have enjoyed our conversations in the recent chats. It is a great honor to be recognized by you and also be included in this list of great sites and people! I am very grateful.

    Thanks. Jon

    1. Welcome to the blog Jon!

You do deserve the award for the wonderful posts that you put up. I have been reading quite a few of them, as well as the comments and chats. It would be wonderful if you can spread the sunshine with other deserving bloggers as well. I guess it would give a chance to all of us to know more people in the blogosphere.

      Thanks for stopping-by. 🙂

    1. Welcome to the blog Penelope!

Glad you liked the site. You are most welcome and deserving of the award. I had visited your site but never had the time to stop-by and say ‘Hello’- I guess this was a great way to connect and let you know about it.

      Thanks for stopping-by. 🙂
