  1. I’ve been wanting to publish a book for a long, long time. What stops me is sitting down and actually doing it.

Another thing that stops me is that I know I have to start promoting it (like you stated you have to promote before you even write it!).

I’m already stressed for time as it is.

Nevertheless, this article made me re-visit one of things that I have on my list to do – publish a book 🙂

  2. Hey, Vinay! What’s up today..?

First, I wold love to say thanks for sharing the article and it’s my favorite topic, honestly. Be a self publisher and author is one of my dream.

You know? I’ve been dreaming about having my photo on the cover of the book and see on some place such as local university, amazon kindle, and some where else.

I used to try to write a book, maybe 2 or 3 times but always to write. I don’t know, but feel unsatisfied with writing. I gave it up!…

Yeah, I read some of the experienced author and found that some of them have the same problem as what I did. However, they recommend to finished the first book.

Again, thanks for sharing your tips and I believe that this will help me to finish my first.

    Thanks for sharing

    1. Hi Robin,

I guess you’ve all the reasons to attend the Success Summit and get all that you need to write and publish your first book now. 🙂

      Thanks for visiting.

  11. Hi Vinay,

An awesome guide to write one’s first book. Writing surely is not an easy job. And if it is about writing a complete book, then planning & dedication need to be in a different level. Thanks for discussing the useful tips on marketing and publishing too. Take care.

    1. Hi Manidipa,

Glad you liked the post. You’re absolutely right that writing a book requires planning, determination, and discipline. Some of the speakers in this Summit offer great value to help in these aspects.

      Thanks for visiting and commenting.

  12. Hi Vinay

How are you? Very informative post on how to go about writing and publishing your first book.

Well I have thought about writing books. I actually have the title of the 2 books but have not gone beyond that. My major deterring factor is the lack of discipline to sit and write. Quite naturally some thing will suffer in the process. Another reason I have not written is out of fear, yes I just mentioned the F word 🙂 I also do not have the disciple to do all the promoting and marketing and so on to get my books sold. Writing is one thing, promoting etc I believe is easier said than done.

I will also consider working with someone like Lorraine Reguly. Thanks for sharing. Have a gret week

    1. Hi Yvonne,

Great to have you on this post.

Yes, I totally understand – getting started is a big thing, and then you need to keep up the momentum too, and finally complete your task. I had written about the Self-Publishing course in one of my earlier posts and in that you’ve an accountability partner to help keep you moving through the process and finish your book. Lorraine could be one for you.

I guess we all have some level of fear when doing something new, and little of anxiety too. That’s all okay. But yes, self-discipline is essential if you want to complete your book in a stipulated time and marketing of the book is certainly not an easy task.

I wish you all the best with your book project and hope this Summit will help you a lot. Thanks for sharing your thoughts and experiences.

  13. Vinay, one of the services I offer on Wording Well is to help others publish their books.

I have self-published one of my own books already.

I have also helped blind man Maxwell Ivey publish two books — a guide to success, and an easy-to-follow guide for weight loss and weight loss management.

In fact, his newest book just came live on Amazon yesterday! 🙂

Marketing these books, however, is another issue! 😉

I’m sure these bestselling authors know a thing or two about that! 😉

    1. Hi Lorraine,

That’s great! How’s your book doing? Yes, I know about the books that Max wrote, he’s a strong-spirited person. I’m happy for him.

It seems a good coincidence that you can learn from the masters at the time when you and Max need it the most. Of course, one of the keys to making a book successful is the marketing aspect, just as blog promotion is to a blog.

Lorraine, you got big names like Gary Vaynerchuk, Peter Marshall, Grant Cardone, Michael Hyatt, Pat Flynn, Bryan Harris, Chris Brogan, Danny Ivy and others speaking in this summit. You’re sure to get plenty of valuable tips and advice there on marketing the books.

I hope you make the best of it.

Thanks for visiting and sharing your thoughts.

      1. Truth be told, I only self-published my book so that I would know all of the steps to take and in what order they needed to be taken! 😉

I then helped Max with his two books.

I have plans on publishing a series of books about my life.

I will make sure to share this post with Max, too! 🙂

By the way, I sent you an email about doing some work on my site. I’ve yet to receive a response from you, that’s why I am mentioning this here…

        1. Hi Lorraine,

You did the right thing, learning by doing is the best way. 🙂

I’m sure with all the experience you’ve now in publishing books, you’ll do a great job with your own book series.

Thanks for reminding me about the email; a few emails slipped by, including yours.

          Take care.
