Do you like change? Do you appreciate when changes happen or are you apprehensive about making changes?

I personally consider change as a constant. That means change happens all the time.

In fact, if you do not change with time, you fall behind time.

So, you should keep checking on what’s working or not, sniffing on what’s new or promising, and re-orienting your strategy for success.

You must be like Sniff and Scurry, or it is not bad if you even be like Haw.

Are you familiar with these names? If not, then you should read the book “Who moved my cheese?” by Spencer Johnson.

Harleena and I, keep making changes at Aha!NOW as per the need of the time.

It is our constant endeavor to move the “Cheese Station” near you, so you are always content and happy.

(If you are getting bugged by the names and terms I am using, you better open up that Wikipedia link and read it! 🙂 )

This GEMS post is mostly about the changes that we are making at Aha!NOW and the ABC (Aha!NOW Blog Community).

After you read through, I would love to have your feedback in the comments section. Believe me; they are so crucial for us to make the changes as per your expectations and liking.

Opening The Doors To Guest Posting For All

Surprised?

This is the biggest change we have made since we started this blog, more than four years back. But we thought it is time to give back and share the love with everyone.

Now, we are opening the doors to all interested people (for a limited period), and it does not matter if they are regular visitors of Aha!NOW or not, or even, whether they are bloggers or not!

Isn’t this good news? Click this link to learn all about it.

You too can now write for Aha!NOW without having to top the leaderboard or earn any required number of reward points.

In short, you are welcome to write for us, with no strings attached!

I know you must be wondering why these changes, so let me explain about it all.

Why We Believe In Giving Back

Frankly, in the initial years Aha!NOW had few fans and followers. Moreover, the blog did not have an impressive rank. After all, it was new, and things take the time to grow.

But we had some bloggers who were regular visitors, and we wanted to reward them. So, they were sent special invitations to write for us and we had guest posts once a month.

Gradually, the blog started to rank better, and we had more visitors. But we did not want to have too many guest posts on Aha!NOW, as we considered it as our personal blog. Therefore, we were very selective.

When we started the ABC a bit more than six months back, we rewarded the most active community members with guest posts.

However, things have changed now.

Thankfully, the ABC is flourishing and Aha!NOW is ranked much better and becoming popular.

This is all because of your love and support in all these years. We feel grateful to you.

Honestly, we felt bad to deny guest post opportunities to regular Aha!NOW visitors and ABC members, who kept requesting us to allow them to guest post.

In the previous GEMS post, we announced opening the guest posts for all but with a condition of earning a fixed number of reward points.

With time, we realized that not every well-wisher and community member can remain active in the blog or community, as per our earlier guest posting conditions.

Even if the community members earned the guest opportunity, what about the Aha!NOW regulars?

What about the ardent social media followers, the blogging buddies, the non-blogging lots, and the countless guest blogging requests, which we receive every day?

We felt bad denying these requests and guest blogging opportunity to all of them. It certainly wasn’t being fair and probably made us appear to be arrogant.

So, we decided to go for the BIG change.

This decision was fueled by the generosity of Harleena, who now considers Aha!NOW not as her personal blog, but more as the blog of all its well-wishers.

You have a right to guest post on Aha!NOW because you are one of the reasons for its success!

The Results of Giving Guest Post Opportunities To All

Actually, we loved coming to this conclusion as it liberated us.

It feels good within because now we are not holding on to something that people want and denying them happiness. Now, we can give something that can make you happy.

Not to mention that we do have our selfish interests, as we will receive immense happiness, since giving is caring and loving. These are the roots of happiness, aren’t they?

The Aha!NOW blog audience will receive more quality posts from bloggers and non-bloggers from all over the world, presenting their varied views and experiences.

You will have a lot to read at Aha!NOW – probably it may become your daily stopover! 🙂

One consequence that we are aware of is that we will have to work more, as we will now be posting thrice a week, which means working round the clock.

But that is okay, as we look at the brighter side of things and focus on the positives.

To make things better, there are more changes on the ABC.

Equality, Fraternity, Liberty – Making The ABC More Awesome

All are equal on the ABC. Every member is free. We are all bonded in love and care for each other.

This is certainly what makes the ABC different from the other blog and blogging communities.

Aha!NOW and the ABC are founded on the human principles and values of compassion, care, and concern.

That is why we have such awesome community members, who shower their love and support to the old, as well as new members.

In a step towards making everyone equal and free, we are abolishing the system of awarding reward points too, after the removal of the leaderboard.

No points. No badges. No discrimination. No restrictions.

Sounds good?

Read the forthcoming announcement post on the ABC for details.

One thing I can tell you now is that we are closing the Community Groups along with the group forums.

The Best Of The Gems

Before the community groups become a thing of the past, I would take this opportunity to honor the two gems of the ABC, who had helped us in moderating the community groups on the ABC.

They are Rohan Chaubey from RohanChaubey.Blogspot.in and Ikechi Awazie from AwazieIkechi.com.

Photo of Ahaians Ikechi and Rohan

Though Rohan had the responsibility of managing and moderating his “Tech Tricks” community group only, he volunteered to assist in maintaining the other community groups as well, which the other group admins couldn’t keep up with, due to their own personal reasons.

Ikechi did a good job of maintaining and managing the “Be An Inspiration” community group very regularly.

We could not have kept up the groups without the help of these two splendid gems of the ABC.

So, congratulations Rohan and Ikechi for doing such a wonderful job with the groups – sheer gratitude from the ABC.

The Commenting Gems

  1. Hi,
Your article is so nice….Blogging can be like music – lots of different voices, one is not necessarily better than the other, just different. I enjoy the differing views on the same subject, don’t you? Giving your writing a voice is what it is all about to me.

  2. Hi Vinay and Hello Harleena

First of all thanks a lot for the mention though I am not as much regular here as I used to be a few weeks ago but still I don’t get satisfaction from my online interaction without visiting here. This is the most natural online community I have ever seen and this is because of Harleena your organic presence across the blogosphere.

This is a good news for struggling bloggers like me that your doors are open for all interested guest authors who want an awesome platform to expand their outreach by delivering quality contents. I hope a huge lot would be taking the benefit of this mouth-watering offer.

I am also thinking nowadays to invite guest authors but then think still I need to up the level of my blog to attract more awesome bloggers to deliver value to the very active community of my blog. It is a rule that higher the authority of a blog more valuable bloggers take interest to be guest author on it.

Thanks a lot for this generous offer and once again brought the best benefit to your proactive blog community.

  3. Vinay Sir,

It’s a great piece of announcement + engagement methodology. I haven’t seen anyone doing this kind of post or even update on the blog.
And a great step to open the Guest Posting on Aha!Now… I’m surely going to submit my guest post.

  4. Hello Harleena and Vinay,

Wow, Aha!Now keeps getting better and better! This is a great opportunity for bloggers to shine and on such a great place like this blog!

Thank you for recognizing me as ne of your top commenters. It’s always a pleasure coming by and reading your posts. I’m looking forward to meeting your upcoming guests. Here’s to your continued success! Have a great week.

    Cori

  5. Hi Vinay and Harleena,

I think it’s great that you opened the invitation to guest post for everyone, and I was honored to do that 2 years ago already. Times fly.

At my blog I do guest blogging by invitation only, and I love it this way, as I can better control the situation, but my blog has a different purpose than yours, of course.

    Congratulations on your successful blog.

    You have a great weekend.

  6. I was excited to know about the stars of last month. Aha now is a good platform for that bloggers who have ability to produce useful and good quality content. I recommend this giveaway to all new and professional bloggers.

  7. Hi Vinay,

First of all, thank you for mentioning me here. Greatly appreciated. 🙂

I like the changes on this site. It was like adapting to achieve larger goals. I like your idea about guest bloggers. I also hope to contribute here when I finish my article. It will take some time but I will do my best! 🙂

Thanks for sharing and thanks for the chances, Vinay.
    Have a great day! 🙂

    ~Nanda

  8. This is really big announcement and also this is great opportunity for those who have great writing skills and want to spread their words between huge audience.Aha!Now is always a great way to reach out maximum audience to listen your words.
I will sure try my hands to write for Aha!Now.

  9. Hey Vinay,

I really like this idea of allowing others who comment on Aha-now to do guest post even though they’re either not part of the ABC community, or they’re like me, just haven’t found the time to engage with the community although they comment on aha a lot! But that’s one thing I like to add. There are others like me and you will definitely do them justice in allowing them to do guest post. It makes it a win/win for everyone!

I look forward to all of this when it takes place! Thanks for sharing!

  10. Hello Vinay and Harleena. I am truly inspired by the level of commitment and dedication you guys have here in creating such a community and also making a difference in the lives of many. I can this change is being welcoomed by many. It’s really good to see the opportunity to guest post. I know I am knew to Aha and still not sure if I’m doing things right but I am sure trying my level best to connect as much as I can and it’s definitely doing me a lot of good. I thank you both wholeheartedly for creating such a community. Stay blessed and see you around:)

  11. Dear Harleena and Vinay!

Thank you for letting us know about your thoughts. I would say that this blog is a fantastic success story. And your concern and constant care for the blog but also us readers is what makes it so successful. You are right that some things work at a special time and then when times change other things work. Change is a constant. Well said!

    Thank you, Ilka

  12. Hi Vinay

Firstly, congratulations to you and Harleena on the work that you are doing here at Aha!NOW. I share your sentiment that the success of this blog overtime came as a result of those who actively participated in the community and helped to share it with others, thus improving its ranking and popularity.

Secondly, there is an old saying, “if it ain’t broke why fix it.” To a large extent that is true. However, glad that you both have decided to do away with the leader board, the point system and even the group. You mentioned the word discrimination in your post and it takes guts and courage to recognise it and then openly alluding to it.

Due to my own busy work schedule, I became a ‘victim’ of the old system and so I am very pleased that you have decided to institute the changes that is reflective of freedom and liberty for all.

I am confident that you will do everything possible to ensure that good quality is maintained in the guest posts here at Aha!NOW.

My very best wishes to everyone for the extraordinary effort and time you have taken to help make ABC what it is today. I will continue to give my support, comment etc as time permits me to do so.

    Have a blessed weekend.

  13. Hey Harleena,

Wow, seems like everyone is introducing changes right about now.

I think it is awesome what you are doing for your readers.

You have accomplished a lot in 4 years with the growth of your blog and the strong community you’ve build.

I am sure these changes will be awesome and I’m looking forward to experiencing them for myself 🙂

    Steve

  14. Hi Vinay,

Change is good! (As long as it’s done strategically.) That’s wonderful that Aha!NOW is doing so well. Congratulations on your site being mobile ready. Mine isn’t yet but I’m definitely working on it. I’ve been wanting to redesign my blog for a while. So, the April 21st date for Google’s algorithm update is an incentive for me.

I think that opening Aha!NOW to all bloggers is a great idea. It’s an opportunity for bloggers who are interested in guest blogging here. I’ll help spread the word.

  15. Hi Vinay Sir & Harleena Mam,

Thanks for sharing the stars of the previous month. This is the post I keep on waiting.

And big congratulations to Rohan and Ikechi. Well deserved !!

    -Ashutosh

  16. Owa. Good to see here. I am trying to follow these guys and specially i am connected with these guys. They are just amazing. Again specially Thanks to Vinay for make this List 🙂

    Cheers

  17. Hi Vinay, You’re right, change is a constant and I like your changes here at Aha-Now! I would have remained a fan if your blog hadn’t changed because the topics here are always amazing, but you’ve made it even better with the forums. Well done.

Great idea about the guest posting. I was always afraid with the rewards system and points that someone could game the system and try to get a guest post published that simply wasn’t up to the high quality always found here. Luckily that hasn’t happened.

Congratulations to you and Harleena for your success and to your GEMs as well. I was so happy to have made it this month. I was gone half of the month and when I went back to comment on the posts I missed the comments were closed. My record as a GEM is unbroken, Yea!

    1. Hi Carolyn,

Glad you like the latest changes here on the Aha!NOW and the ABC.

Frankly, at times people did try to game our achievement and rewarding system, but we wouldn’t let that happen. I’m also happy that we have had great guest posts till that and we would carry on with this tradition.

You’re a true gem – you would remain so even if you did not feature in the gems list of Aha!NOW. 🙂

Thank you for your visit and comment, I really appreciate it.

  18. Hi Vinay,

One obstacle that causes many people pain and unhappiness in their life is their inability to adjust to change. But the winners embrace it believing in the possibilities ahead. I appreciate this post because I know it took courage and humility to do what you’re doing and making us all feel ownership of this amazing blog.

You’re teaching us what it takes to be proactive and the importance of catering to needs of others in spite of being fearful and feeling unconformable.

@ikman and @rohanchaubey I love all your work and thanks for such a contribution to this blog. As we continue to grow and make changes here at Aha!NOW one thing I know that will always be constant and that’s the love for each other.

    Thank you!

    1. Thank you Vernon sir for the mention. You always inspire and motivate us from your comments. Thanks for that. 🙂

    2. Hi Vernon,

It’s a crucial quality you’ve mentioned that differentiates the winners and failures – the ability to adapt and adjust to change. Moreover, one has to be willing to make changes as the time demands so. That certainly requires a bit of a foresight and insight.

I think it’s also about doing what is right and good, irrespective of anything else. It’s so good to know your views of change.

Thank you for your beautiful comment filled with generosity. I appreciate your visit here. Have a great festive Sunday!

  19. Hi Vinay, thanks for the lovely mention as a regular commenter. I have gratefully accepted Harleena’s request for a guest post here at Aha.Now! I’m honored to contribute. As you know I’ve often had trouble logging into ABC and not sure if it’s me or if the log in is ‘touchy’. I’m happy to hear AhaNow will be mobile friendly! As well, thank you for the link to test my site. It is not mobile friendly and I must correct that!

Thanks for the wonderful posts here and I look forward to hearing from guest bloggers and non-bloggers alike. I always learn so much here. Cheers and have a nice weekend!

    1. Hi Lisa,

I remember you had the login problem a long time back. I’d request you to retry logging in by using your username and not your email address. If you still face any problem, then please do let me know.

It’d be great to have your guest post on Aha!NOW. Thank you for visiting and commenting on this post. Enjoy your festive Sunday!

  20. Hii Vinay Sir and Harleena Mam,
I am also a part time blogger not regular blogger due to some reasons, and Naveen share this post with me,after read the post i think it is a very good opportunity for all Bloggers and Non-Bloggers also to share their knowledge or experiences to others. Thanks for this change and please keep it up.

    1. Hi Deep Kumar,

I’m glad you like the offer in this post. We just want to have the best content, and it doesn’t matter if it is by a blogger or a non-blogger.

      Thanks for commenting and visiting.

  21. Hello Vinay sir,
This gems post is as awesome as the other ones. It also has a goodness topping on it; the guest post giveaway.
I think its a great opportunity for me and other Ahaians as well as non-bloggers to get their voice heard at a great platform like Aha!NOW.

I know Rohan and Ikechi are great buddies and glad they took up the responsibilities when the other members were busy due to work or any other reasons.

Aha!NOW is completely amazing and always giving. This extra feature has added a new feather to the crown of Aha!NOW.

I am a bit not keeping well since two days and will surely submit the form within a couple of days. 🙂

Thank you Vinay sir and Harleena maam for all that you do to make the world a bit more pleasant.

    1. Hi Swadhin, thanks for the mention. It won’t have been possible without your support. 🙂

    2. Hi Swadhin,

We did consider well-wishers like yourself when making this big change on Aha!NOW. Why should the ones who deserve rewards be left out because of some kind of rules that only favored a few?

We would be glad to receive your post pitches once you are feeling well – I wish you a quick recovery.

Thanks for your visit and comment. Have a great Sunday!

  22. Hi Vinay Sir and Harleena Mam,
First of all want to say thanks to mention me in this post. It makes me too happy when I see my name in two places.
Yes, it’s really a big change that you have made in this community to allow anyone who is an ahain or not to make a guest post.
The Another great thing is that now aha-now is totally mobile friendly so we dont need to wait to use systems to check out the posts.

Thanks a lot again to mentions me here.
    With regards,
    Naveen

    1. Hi Naveen,

I’m glad you like the changes on the blog. Viewing Aha!NOW on mobile was always good, but I just wanted to create the awareness of making the blog mobile-friendly as per Google’s recent requirements.

Thanks for your visit and comment, enjoy your Sunday!

  23. Hi Vinay,

Change is great! It means growing and if we are not growing and stay stagnant, we will eventually be discouraged. I love this community of wonderful bloggers. What you and Harleena are doing is wonderful. In order to grow, we must be able and willing to change.

I want to extend my congratulations to Ikechi and Rohan. Also to all the members that are loyal readers of this wonderful blog! Thanks for the mention

    -Donna

    1. Hi Mohinder,

Congratulations on getting your blog pass the Google’s mobile-friendly test. Our main aim of accepting guest posts is to provide awesome content to our blog audience, and I hope the guest post seekers will not see this just as an opportunity to get a backlink, because they will get much more. The focus has to be on contributing an awesome post.

Good to have you in the top commenters list. Also, I’m sorry I had to remove your site link – you already have it in your comment so you do not at all need to paste it in the body of the comment.

Thanks and have a great weekend.

      1. Hi Vinay, First of all I’m sorry about mentioning link in the body section of comment but that was just due to unawareness about the commenting rule. If I am not wrong, it is not mentioned anywhere in your rules and I just did what I saw on other comments given by other bloggers.

But I know rule are rules and every one has to follow and I will not repeat this blunder again in future while commenting.

        Thanks for this advice.

  28. Hi Vinay sir and Harleena madam,

I’m so happy to see the changes made on AhaNow taking action from this month. I was so excited to see Harleena madam’s email inviting me to find the updated information about guestpoting. Thank you so much for the encouragement for the older memebers of the community. Currently, I am working on an article and will be submitting the post pitches very soon.

Thank you for being awesome all the time 🙂 Have a nice weekend ABC!!

I would like to congratulate all my friends who have been mentioned in the GEMS category. I missed that oppurtunity this month and will be back active with the guest post again.

    See you all then 😉

    1. Hi Sasidhar,

Good to know that you like the new changes and would be submitting your post pitches.

I look forward to your guest post on Aha!NOW. 🙂

Thanks for visiting and commenting and have a great weekend!

  29. This is a great news for all potential Bloggers who share the common thread of AHa Now between them! I personally could never hope to beat the leaderboard all this while because I have to juggle my corporate life with the blogger’s life 🙂 This makes things so much more easier to share good content with the readers of Aha-Now.

I am amazed at the courage and graciousness you both constantly show in the way you are growing Aha-Now! All the best and good luck to all the future guest post writers! They should hurry (since it’s a Limited offer only 😛 )

    1. Hi Nikshep,

Consider the change being made especially for you. 😉

Yes, you can say that we are running this offer on a trial basis from April through June. We might continue it if we think it is worth it.

Thank you for your appreciation and the wishes. They mean a lot.
      Do have a great weekend!

And congrats to all the commentators for making this community live with their insightful thoughts and suggestions. I am glad to be a part of the commentators group. I feel lucky to join this community.

No points and badges will definitely make everybody stand on a same platform. I am waiting for the next post to have a detailed view on this thing. You are going to close community forums and group forums as well. All these changes are signalling towards something bigger.

Last month, I got the chance to share my views via guest post. It was my first guest post. And, I learnt a lot through this wonderful experience. Thanks @admin and @vinay-kachhara for your lovely support. I can’t believe that this community is only six months old. You both are doing lots of hard work and the beautiful result is in front of us. I mentioned the name of Harleena Mam in one of my post in March, where I thanked her and other two blogger for their wonderful support in my beginning stages.

  36. Hi Vinay sir, That is so nice of you and Harleena ma’am to open guest post for all. This is amazing. I am excited to see guest authors from ABC as well as those which are not a part of ABC. 🙂

Thank you for mentioning me and @Ikman once again in the GEMS post. Lately I couldn’t interact much on my Tech tricks group but it was great to discuss there in the initial days. There were ABC members who asked how to get a guest opportunity quick and easy way, now they will be so happy to read this latest announcement. 😀

Yay! I see myself listed in commenting GEMS too. 🙂 I didn’t get much time to be active on Aha!NOW due to exams and other things. But I love visiting ABC in my free time and reply to all messages and welcome new members. Its so much fun! 🙂

Thank you so much for mentioning @Naveensem’s blog featuring me for an interview. Also congratulations that Aha!NOW is mobile friendly and gets good traffic from mobile devices. 🙂 Thank you for reminding us about that update, I think i too need to do something for my blog too. 😛

Thanks a lot for all the mentions in the GEMS post. Happy to see the new changes, I am sure it would benefit all the members as well as non-members. 🙂

    – Rohan Chaubey.

    1. Hi Rohan,

Openness and freedom are the basic human rights, and in the times of net neutrality and net equality, you got to think differently. We will be happy to provide the guest blogging opportunity to those who seek and deserve it.

Thank you for being a regular visitor of Aha!NOW and member of the ABC. We enjoy your activities and love your presence. I liked your Oprah Winfrey’s image that you once posted. 😉

The mention about the mobile traffic was truly a reminder to all the blogger visitors and community members.. it really matters and the deadline is approaching fast!

Thank you for your feedback and support, it really matters and we appreciate your spending time here inspite of your exams. 🙂

      1. Yes, Agreed. Internet neutrality is a buzz word these days.

I am so happy to read that you enjoy my activities and love my presence on ABC. That sounds so good. 😛

The community that is created at Aha!NOW is a collectively effort and it won’t have been possible without the leadership of you and Harleena ma’am.

        ❤❤❤❤ Aha!NOW ABC ❤❤❤❤

  37. Hi Vinay

Change is constant and always necessary. It is great to know the guest posting is free for all and it is a wonderful news. As long as people follow the rules and produce quality content, they have the opportunity to expose themselves to a wonderful community.

As the issue of having more contents, I am ready to make aha-now my new Google :). Also removing the points and leader boards is a good decision. ABC is our online home and no points or top leaderboard will makes sway.

As for the groups, my email was late and I have sent you a PM to explain but I am ok with the decision and I had fun being a group admin.

I want to say you and Harleena are doing a good job. I must commend you as AHA-Now is the biggest community in the blogosphere. Thanks for sharing. Looking forward to the new changes.

    1. Hi Ikechi,

It’s good to know that you too believe in change. I’ve met people who dislike change, and I find that the ones who change have better prospects and probability of bringing happiness into their lives.

Aha!NOW has been a hallmark of quality and we will never compromise on that. I’m sure the guest post seekers too understand it and will work accordingly. And why don’t we rename Aha!NOW as Ahaoogle, just joking, I hope Google doesn’t mind it. 😉

Thanks for your support on the latest proposed changes on Aha!NOW and the ABC. On second thoughts, I may retain one odd group – I’m always open to new ideas and suggestions. You surely did a great job as a group admin, and I’m grateful for that.

Well, I can’t agree that we are the biggest but I can surely say that we are one of the most “bondest” community.. if that’s not a word in the English dictionary, then let’s create one! 🙂

Thank you for your comment and commendations, we really appreciate it!

  38. Hi Harleena and Vinay,

Congratulations for introducing the changes…change is not only ‘the spice of life’ but it makes us grow further…who could deny this fact, we all love change, we change with time, we adapt new styles in all the aspects of life! I appreciate your decisions to open the gates to all the well-wishers and visitors. It heralds a new beginning in some interesting ways.

I would like to express my gratitude for including me in the GEMS of Aha-now and look forward to positive contributions. I am pleased at the love and support that has been extended to the readers of this blog. Wishing you all the best and greater glory. Stay blessed dear friends 🙂

    1. Hi Balroop,

No two moments are alike – such is the relevancy of change. Our body and mind too change with every passing moment. So must our works and ways. 🙂 I’m glad you like our opening the gates.. and I hope you checked your mail!

Thank you for your support and good wishes, they matter a lot.
      Have a great weekend!

  39. Hello Vinay; It’s been a long time since I’ve had the chance to comment on this blog, although your posts are shared regularly on Twitter. First there was a long hiatus and then things went off in a different direction. May I say though, that I was not a fan of the points and rewards system from day one and am glad that you have decided to eliminate it? The opening up of guest posts is interesting and something I might pursue in future, if that’s still open. It’s great to see how much Aha!NOW has grown in the couple of years I’ve known it. Wishing you and Harleena much success!

    1. Hi Debbie,

So good to see you after a long time. I remember your comments and reaction to the achievement and rewarding system on the ABC about seven months back. But we wanted to try it and it was successful to a great extent. However, we also observed that some people were let down and discouraged. Our idea of community was to take everybody together and be at the same level.

So we hit upon the idea of going completely in an opposite direction and make all the wrongs right. 🙂 We would love to have you on board as a guest blogger, whenever you are ready!

Thank you for your kinds words and wishes, in fact that is our magical secret as we grow on your appreciation and blessings (keep it a secret! 😉

Thanks for your lovely comment and have a great weekend ahead!
