11 Tips to Develop Your Confidence

Here are 11 essential tips you can follow to get your self-confidence levels rocking:

Watch your food

You are what you eat. When you fuel your body with good nutrients, it shows on all of the functions of your body.

On the other hand, filling it with junk food of low-nutritional value will just wreck it. Adopting a healthier diet can go a long way in improving your self-esteem.

Take care of your body & skin

When you take proper care of your body, you can feel the energy flowing through it. Go on a run, exercise, and energize your whole life.

As for our skin, sometimes the nature of our lifestyle leaves a negative impact. That’s why it’s important to take good care of your skin or even consider some laser facial treatments to fix facial skin issues without complications.

These treatments are a great remedy, especially if long exposure to sunlight has resulted in hyperpigmentation, wrinkles, pre-aging, and even in cases where your skin is just naturally sensitive to sunlight.

Expand your mind

Imagine if you make a habit of reading one page every day, or signing up for a challenge of reading 30 books a year. Our minds have an enormous potential that most of us don’t use to the fullest, but imagine if you did!

One way that definitely works to improve your confidence and self-esteem is to increase your general knowledge. As a matter of fact, in addition to the fact that knowledge is power, being knowledgeable in certain aspects or subjects can make you feel and look confident.

Even when you’re asked questions regarding that particular matter in front of a crowd, you most likely won’t freeze and end up embarrassing yourself… you just know what to say.

Take small but sure steps towards your goals

Letting the waves guide you wherever they land is no way to take control over your life, but neither is filling your plate with dozens of goals to achieve.

The secret is setting your priorities into goals, and taking small steps every day to get there. As you take the baby steps and make small achievements along the way, they give you the confidence to pursue the rest of your goals.

Practice makes perfect

It doesn’t matter if you keep doing the same thing all over again; if you know how it connects later on to the bigger picture.

What matters most is to keep practicing. Sometimes you’ll make it, other times you’ll fail. But even when you fail, you’re one step closer to catching what it is that you’re chasing. Just keep practicing!

Meditate

Meditating helps you remember your goals. You wake up every day and set a conscious reminder of what you should be focusing on while decluttering from the rest.

Meditation helps you harness the power that lurks in the universe and you can channel it into confidence, which can ultimately see you fulfill your commitments if you follow through.

Increase your social circle

Expanding yourself to know more people will stretch your horizons and give you a better understanding of human nature. In due time, this gives you more confidence in dealing with different people.

Let go of comparison

Our inner self-talk can be our best friend or our worst enemy, and constantly comparing ourselves to others makes it the latter.

The more we focus on what others can do or have without working on ourselves, the worse the enemy we are to ourselves.

In other words, you will want to be yourself if at all you’re going to feel good about yourself and improve your self-esteem.

Push yourself out of the comfort zone

Checking out your progress from your checklist and constantly signing up for more challenges makes you grow as a person.

With every achievement, you get a little bit more confidence to face the next challenge. This is just like activating your “beast mode”, and it comes with a significant amount of energy to fuel your confidence.

Make your journey a story worth sharing

If you think about your life as one big story that you want to tell one day, you’ll have a completely different look at life. Every little thing you do will mean something, and next time in the big gathering, you’ll know how to steal the spotlight.

Embrace and trust yourself

The other important thing is to know that you are unique… you are one of a kind. At the end of the day, the best thing you can do is to be comfortable in your own skin.

Embrace yourself for all you are and all you aren’t since there’s no one else who can be “you” or at the very least, be like you are; and that’s your power. Trust that you can do it and you will improve your chances of achieving your dearest goals.

Bonus tip – Stand tall and observe your posture

Nothing is more important than body language as far as self-confidence is concerned.

Many research studies have actually shown that seating, walking, and standing upright can have a huge impact in boosting your self-confidence.  As a matter of fact, it also sends the impression to others that you are confident about yourself.

Especially when standing in front of the crowd, always be sure to stand tall, smile often, and maintain eye contact. This actually is a secret that many politicians use to woo crowds, and most of them won’t tell you.

Wrapping It Up

While it appears as though self-confidence is all about appearance, it starts a long way before that.

Taking these little steps, you’ll slowly walk your way up the ladder of confidence.

You’ll find that it starts with self-awareness and the will to improve internally, and it’s only when you’ve done the inner workings, that you will be able to glow like one of those stars outwardly.

  1. A great quote from the self help classic The Magic of Thinking Big is ‘act confidently to think confidently’. Most people do it the other way round.

  2. Great sharing! It is very important to get yourself confident, especially when you work yourself to achieve success. Without confidence, you will not get the drive you need to think that you can pull off the efforts needed and as a result you can have yourself in procrastination.

I like the points about practice makes perfect as I believe all of us have a starting point in our life when we are not good at all at something before we take the necessary first step and another steps to learn it. The most important thing is believing that you can do it if you keep on trying to do what you like to do.

  3. Nice article. I read more books, blogs, and articles to improve my confidence level. I read articles of both success and failure stories and think why they became a success or how they became a failure.

  4. I have worked and I am still working on improving my confidence level by reading books about great influencers and leaders. Their lives have helped me in many ways of being confident
